<Hammdist>
oh finally I found the bug in my armbian variant - basically I was writing the bootloader to fiel rather than file and so the final image had no bootloader on it at all

yesterday I tried a fresh armbian bookworm on my odroid n2+ and tried to install the retropie setup script but it has failed bcz many dependencies could not solved at compiling?
<DC-IRC>
[Discord] <menu> schmendrick3312: what dependencies? you likely need to manually install them
<schmendrick3312>
many i.e. and more: libudev-dev libxkbcommon-dev libsdl2-dev libasound2-dev libusb-1.0-0-dev libx11-xcb-dev libpulse-dev libvulkan-dev mesa-vulkan-drivers libavcodec-dev libavformat-dev libavdevice-dev...
<schmendrick3312>
need a crash course of packet managing
<DC-IRC>
[Discord] <Werner> It is not uncommon that a wide variety of development libraries need to be installed before attempting to compile a random piece of software.
<schmendrick3312>
normally armbian has it armbian repos but debian repos are okay too?
<DC-IRC>
[Discord] <Werner> Armbian comes with both, its own and - depending on userspace - either Debian or Ubuntu repos.
<schmendrick3312>
then I need all the tools for building...
<DC-IRC>
[Discord] <Werner> contains most common tools
<DC-IRC>
[Discord] <Werner> no idea if that's sufficient for your specific case
<schmendrick3312>
thank you, I will see what I can do... =D but do you thinking it's a good idea to install the retropie building script with armbian?
<DC-IRC>
[Discord] <Werner> I don't see why not. I don't know this software but either it works or it doesn't
<DC-IRC>
[Discord] <menu> it's designed for Raspbian, which i believe ships with `build-essentials`
<schmendrick3312>
It's seen to be a mammoth project i'm not sure if I'm ready for this but I can give it a try and simulating the whole build... it hasn't much do with armbian and may a bit offtopic but thank you very much...
<DC-IRC>
[Discord] <menu> schmendrick3312: just install every missing dependency until it works, it *should* build fine
<schmendrick3312>
bcz it would be a lot of work I decided better not but I found RetroArena...
<DC-IRC>
[Discord] <menu> it's likely a single command

[Discord] <beelsebob> @John The Cooling Fan I'm sorry, this is almost certainly not the message you want to receive having read the pull request thread for the CB2, but... I'm not getting an HDMI signal out of mine after installing a version including your patch. dmesg is saying this: https://pastebin.com/R6c9kZJ3
