[Discord] <joebibbii> ok I will just ask... I have a lemaker banana pro, but evry debian distro I try to flash on it when in uboot it tries to load the kernel it crashes. I try all the archive of armbian for banana pro and other distros found online... the only one that works is a bananian version but it is too old and not updatable so I can't use it for my projects, someone has any advices?
<DC-IRC>
[Discord] <igorpec> if nothing works but old 3.4.y kernel its probably hardware related, like bad powering.
<DC-IRC>
[Discord] <joebibbii> oh ok... so i can't do nothing... Do you know if I can install docker compose plugin on 3.4?
<DC-IRC>
[Discord] <igorpec> with kernel 3.4.y ... we all wishes you good luck 😦
<DC-IRC>
[Discord] <igorpec> forget about
<DC-IRC>
[Discord] <igorpec> bananapi pro / a20 devices should work. We have a few in automated testing facility and they show no problems
<DC-IRC>
[Discord] <igorpec> it must be related to some bad PSU
<DC-IRC>
[Discord] <joebibbii> ok so I should try to change the power supply?
<DC-IRC>
[Discord] <joebibbii> how can I choose a proper psu?

hi, I have a rock64 that I installed armbian jammy on many years ago. I want to update it to the latest armbian jammy 23.8.1, but after apt upgrade and dist-upgrade it's still on 22.11.1 , so how could I do it?
<DC-IRC>
[Discord] <igorpec> nova16268: unsupported board. I assume you have spent at least 15 minutes trying to find this answer on forums?
<nova16268>
Yeah yeah I searched the forums and read the docs on upgrading. The board is unsupported now and in place upgrades are also unsupported. I was just curious because I see that the build exists in the archive URL, that's all
<DC-IRC>
[Discord] <joebibbii> ok I dicovered that there are two usb port on my banana pi, and power the second one worked -_-
<DC-IRC>
[Discord] <joebibbii> thank you very much!!!

<DC-IRC>
[Discord] <joebibbii> yes thk u!!!!!
<DC-IRC>
[Discord] <igorpec> nova16268: you can ignore version of Armbian. Probably you have very old initial build and if we don't build BSP for this board ... it will stay at the same version of BSP (where there are little changes anyway) ... but you will get kernel upgrades anway. tl;dr; don't wrry

Howdy. Is it just a cosmetic thing that after upgrading to Bookworm my Welcome screen still says "Welcome to Armbian 23.8.1 Bullseye" or have I forgotten to let the OS know what version it is?
<DC-IRC>
[Discord] <Werner> Since userspace upgrades aren't officially supported you have to change rootfs package manually
<DC-IRC>
[Discord] <Werner> or was it base-files? Don't remember
