<DC-IRC_> [Discord] <tenkawa42> @monkablyat that will explain failures yes... not "site errors"
<DC-IRC_> [Discord] <tenkawa42> @monkablyat that will explain failures yes... not "site errors" if you are referring to the earlier discussion
<DC-IRC_> [Discord] <tenkawa42> @monkablyat that will explain failures yes... not "site errors" if you are referring to the earlier discussion (It was missing files)
<DC-IRC_> [Discord] <tenkawa42> Not sure though what's being used to sync everything back up so it may need more retries
<DC-IRC_> [Discord] <monkablyat> Good point just thought routing errors could happen
<DC-IRC_> [Discord] <tenkawa42> Its always possible... just didn't happen for this one.. I posted more detail in armbian-devel earlier
<DC-IRC_> [Discord] <tenkawa42> Appears they have got the sync fixed now though

<DC-IRC_> [Discord] <bogusstrand> Hello Armbian Folks! I am working on support for a new/old board, the ClockworkPi GameShell, and I am wondering if there is good documentation on where things go in the build tree. I have managed to "shoe horn" things into the tree to get a "working" build, but I want to make sure I do it right. I have a .csc file setup, but need to add uboot and kernel patches for the board a <clipped message>
<DC-IRC_> [Discord] <bogusstrand> s well as a kernel config file. I forked the repo and saved my changes on github, but any advice to re-organize where the files go would be helpful.

<DC-IRC_> [Discord] <nicod_sbc> I'd like gvfs-backends to be installed on all desktop images by default. How do I do that? I multiple times tried and it alwas was for one image and gone the next time. Any reason why this would not be installed on every desktop? You need it to browse network paths with file managers.
<DC-IRC_> [Discord] <igorpec> propose change?
<DC-IRC_> [Discord] <nicod_sbc> Yes, where should I do that? I once did it on that website I can't remember. Jiffy, Jaja..

<DC-IRC_> [Discord] <igorpec> all subfolders -> config_base -> packages
<DC-IRC_> [Discord] <igorpec> EXAMPLE: Jammy Gnome: jammy/environments/gnome/config_base/packages
<DC-IRC_> [Discord] <igorpec> add to all, test one, submit PR
<DC-IRC_> [Discord] <nicod_sbc> So it would have to be done for each board and image/desktop? I'm not good at this but I'll try.
<DC-IRC_> [Discord] <nicod_sbc> That would explain why it dissapeared when a newer ubuntu image came out.
<DC-IRC_> [Discord] <igorpec> no, just for some DE as some are linked together
<DC-IRC_> [Discord] <nicod_sbc> ok
<DC-IRC_> [Discord] <igorpec> it dissapeared probably after last big purge, when i removed lots of junk ... and some good things too
<DC-IRC_> [Discord] <igorpec> try. i have to jump out of office, be back shortly
<DC-IRC_> [Discord] <nicod_sbc> I'll ask help from someone. My limited brain capacity can't handle this anymore.
<DC-IRC_> [Discord] <igorpec> this will help https://paste.armbian.com/rozugavuji.bash
<DC-IRC_> [Discord] <tenkawa42> @nicod_sbc just a precautionary warning that gvfs-backends tends to have "unwanted" side effects sometimes that people don't always don't realize (media locking, too many system dependencies) so make sure you weigh the real need for wanting to add this feature to everything.
<DC-IRC_> [Discord] <nicod_sbc> But how else would people use network paths with file managers? I always use it and have not noticed any issue's.
<DC-IRC_> [Discord] <nicod_sbc> I think it's essential. Can't expect from a beginner to search what to install to be able to do that.
<DC-IRC_> [Discord] <tenkawa42> The main key is to not use "gvfs" itself.... if you can avoid it you will be ok.
<DC-IRC_> [Discord] <tenkawa42> If you can just use the gvfs infrastructure to DBus you will be fine
<DC-IRC_> [Discord] <tenkawa42> The gvfs daemon is the problem
<DC-IRC_> [Discord] <c0rnelius77> pssh. gvfs-backends is fine. @tenkawa42 is just a hater.
<DC-IRC_> [Discord] <c0rnelius77> He is just channeling his inner @mackahan

<DC-IRC_> [Discord] <tenkawa42> Looks like they have cleaned up the behaviour since the older days but I still wouldn't trust it as far as I can throw it.
<DC-IRC_> [Discord] <tenkawa42> The only one that triggers auto behaviour now seems to be "Software execution" whatever that includes
