Hi, what should be the Upstream-Status Inappropriate [Reason] for a patch that changes 3rd party code but which is specific only for my use case and does not make any sense in the upstream? Suppose I change the mux configuration for the board I'm using

Well I would say that linter is even more permissive than what yocto expects. Looking at their site, there are only two reason for Inappropriate: oe specific and upstream ticket <link>

pbiel, the linter you are using is not the authority on the possible reasons. Any reason is allowed if it is well written.

oeling-adv is a 3rd party project, it had no endorsement from core yocto, and it doesn't always give good advice by default. You need to tweak its config to fit your project.

Is poky-altcfg on purpose downgrading kernel from 6.10 to 6.6? I wish to build systemd setups based on poky distro and could use the altcfg but would prefer a newer kernel
