<tagr> hexdump0815: by the way, here's that set of patches to test on Nyan: http://patchwork.ozlabs.org/project/linux-tegra/list/?series=277707

<hexdump0815> tagr: digetx: i tested those two patches on both the 2gb and the 4gb nyan and it seems to work well on both
<hexdump0815> one good side effect of having the display init working again now seems to be that the display is now also coming back properly from suspend - before a very ugly hack which did some vt switching and an xrandr off and then auto was required to bring the display back
<hexdump0815> that is independent of the patch used - this seems to be the case for the initial patch from digext and for this newer patch set
<hexdump0815> digetx: i fully agree with you that dtb changes should be backwards compatible, but i think in this special case it might be ok to break this compatibility as nyan was so broken due to bit-rot since at least 10 kernel revisions until you helped me getting it back to life that it does not really matter too much
<hexdump0815> meanwhile it is quite useable again thanks to your support
<hexdump0815> the only thing missing now is suspend/resume - i have it working now reliable with s2idle, but this does not really save enough power to be worth it
<hexdump0815> digetx: i just also tried setting supend-mode to 2 in the dts as you suggested some weeks ago, but it does not make any difference - as soon as i enable deep sleep i cannot get it to wakeup again and debugging this without a serial console is very hard
<hexdump0815> tagr: do you have a serial console on your venice (i think via servo)? maybe you can check if suspend/resume works for you on this one?
