ifreund changed the topic of #river to: river - a dynamic tiling wayland compositor || https://github.com/riverwm/river || channel logs: https://libera.irclog.whitequark.org/river/
<XeroOl> Is there documentation of the protocol for communicating with the layout program?
<XeroOl> Or do I need to figure it out by example via rivertile?
<novakane> only doc I can think of

<leon-p> XeroOl: wayland protocol definitions (the XML files) generally contain enough documentation. Reading the protocol should be enough, although a general understanding of Wayland may be required
<leon-p> if you have specific questions, you can also ask here

<ifreund> Yeah, finally found a bit of time/motivation
<ifreund> Still a lot to do though

<novakane> did you have some time to try to fix the xwayland problem in zig 0.10?

<ifreund> Well, I do think I understand what's happening better but I need to figure out what the actual intended behavior is here
<ifreund> lol actually I just solved it I think
<ifreund> I think the only reason it compiles with zig stage1 and xwayland disabled is a stage1 compiler bug
<ifreund> novakane: pushed a commit to next-zig if you're curious
<ifreund> I don't plan on merging a zig 0.10 update until after river 0.2.0 is tagged though
<ifreund> then I'll tag river 0.2.1 with the only change being the zig version bump
<ifreund> this is to make life easier for at least the FreeBSD package maintainer and likely other distros as well
<novakane> oh, yeah I see, guess we sure that the new compiler is better then xD
<novakane> I'm more interested in zig 0.10 in zig-wayland for now tbh
<novakane> not like I'm in hurry, just that this is the repo I need for my projects, I can wait for river :P

<novakane> well and zig-pixman too

<ifreund> novakane: I should probably just merge the current next-zig branch of zig-wayland and zig-wlroots
<ifreund> need to give the patches one more good look though and don't have any more time today
<novakane> ifreund: I would appreciate that, no worries though
