Hey guys, bit of a weird problem here. I installed a new gpu, but river is not detecting the monitor that's connected to the new gpu, and is displaying stuff on the monitor that's connected to the motherboard directly.

You probably need to tell wlroots which GPU to use

There is an environment variable for that, beginning with WLR_ but you will need to search Google for the rest of it

well that problem was not really resolved, so I just nuked my entire system and started over. 24h later, I have a working system, yay

I second the nvidia sentiment. the amount of work I had to put in to get river running on my work laptop is ridiculous.

oh well, I'm just glad that I can use river tbh, even if it's tearing; or even to use linux at all. I was on an internship once and they made me work on a mac, that was torture, I couldn't get anything done, had to work on a VM; so yeah, some perspective ;)

I have noticed a bit of screen tearing and freezeups on nouveau drivers for river. I wonder if it's a river thing or a nouveau thing. I'm using proprietary nvidia drivers rn, and it seems to work a bit better
