<elshize> ifreund: here's the log I got from the crash we discussed when I leave river without a display connected for an extended time: https://0x0.st/-R5v.txt I truncated it, the last error line repeats about 10k times and then nothing. when I came back to the computer, it was at my tty login, as if my whole session was killed, including all tmux processes, etc.

<sn3w[m]> Is it possible to have a window to have fixed geometry, fixed position and only open in floating mode??
<sn3w[m]> I want to do this for rofi
novakane has joined #river
<novakane> sn3w[m]: to always open in floating mode you need to use `float-filter-add` see riverctl(1) man page or the example config
<sn3w[m]> novakane: And what about fixed geometry and position?
<novakane> for the fixed position/size it is not possible currently unless the client allow it with command flags
<sn3w[m]> I see
<sn3w[m]> thanks for the help novakane!
<novakane> np :)
<novakane> elshize: weird it looks like your systray cause this, what are you using?

<pkap> Waybar tags are now clickable, neat!
<sn3w[m]> Hey novakane, Any examples for float-filter-add
<sn3w[m]> It says float-filter-add app-id|title pattern
<sn3w[m]> what is pattern and the title?
<sn3w[m]> or app id?
<pkap> You can check app-id and title with the lswt tool.
<sn3w[m]> and what about the pattern?
<sn3w[m]> also link to lswt?
<pkap> Exmaple: riverctl float-filter-add app-id "pavucontrol"
<pkap> example 2: riverctl float-filter-add title "Firefox — Sharing Indicator"
<pkap> So the pattern is the app-id or the the title respectively.

<novakane> sn3w[m]: https://github.com/riverwm/river/blob/master/example/init#L151 and as pkap said you can use lswt to get the app id

<elshize> novakane: I actually don't use one, I noticed there are errors for applets because I used to run waybar and now running yambar -- but didn't remove starting applets from my init, so these errors are probably related to that.
<novakane> elshize: ah I see, so it's probably just the last lines the relevant part
