<brandon099> Hey! I'm just getting started with River, and am trying to get the layout generator "riverbsp" working to try it out, but I have not been able to figure out how to swap rivertile out. Has anyone tried it and got it working?

<novakane> whhat you guys think of something like this in the wiki https://paste.sr.ht/~novakane/4ac0b1bfc1fbf60ed5e7cd3cefaef50a9d205d41
<elshize> novakane: from a perspective of someone who has before wondered how to correctly report issues -- looks very helpful, and good to have as a reference to come back to

<novakane> cool that would be the point, not sure if I missed anyhthing

<Guest44> Why is my cursor not working in river?
<Guest44> Ive just installed river
<Guest44> mouse*
<Danacus> Does it work on other wlroots based compositors like Sway? Does it work on other wayland compositors like GNOME or KDE? Or is this specific to river?
<Guest44> I have not tried any other compositors
<Guest44> but it worked previously
<Guest44> on the previous void linux installation
<Danacus> I recommend trying other compositors to find out where the problem lies. If you're sure it's related to river only, you could maybe provide logs by running `river -log-level debug >river.log 2>&1`.
<novakane> is your mouse listed in `riverctl list-inputs`
<Guest44> River needs to be runt
<Guest44> The quitting command works
<Guest44> but the terminal spawn doesnr
<Guest44> rn taking a look at sway
<Guest44> will notify of any errora
<Guest44> errors*
<novakane> do you use foot as terminal? because if you copied the example config that the one use in it
<Guest44> I use alacritty
<Guest44> and have modified the init accordingly
<Guest44> idk what sway shortcuts are
<Danacus> Guest44: Did you compile river with XWayland support? I don't think alacritty support wayland natively.
<Guest44> I did compiled it with support for xwayland
<Danacus> Guest44: You don't need shortcuts to test your mouse, right?
<Guest44> Oh yeah almost forgot 😅

<Guest44> Ooh
<Guest44> it now works
<Guest44> thank you
<Danacus> what fixed it?
<tiosgz_> Danacus: fyi alacritty does support wayland natively
<Danacus> oh my bad, I must have confused it with something else

<chipps> Hi, I want to make it so that when I hold a given button and move my mouse, it acts as scrolling in the given direction. Can this be made possible?
<chipps> also How can I remap a mouse key to behave as the middle mouse button
