What does a B-REP circle look like compared to an F-REP
<lf94>
frep: sqrt(x^2+y^2)
<lf94>
brep: same thing?
<lf94>
I'm wondering how I can store b-rep stuff beside f-rep stuff
<lf94>
So my SDF stuff can use the information from b-rep stuff
<lf94>
But I don't think it's necessary maybe?

Lf94 i Started an Algorithm to Convert an object from brep(Polygons) to frep. But IT Just Started to Work. Not very bullet Proof yet.

I wouldnt focus on this too much. It sounds like a hard problem in general. I think it's more beneficial to target triangles as the "universal" format.

<lf94>
So there is still a lot of usefulness in being able to union / difference / intersect outside of the SDF world
<lf94>
Basically outside of SDF we should be "assembling" pieces
<lf94>
We can use things like instances to have millions of pieces
<lf94>
This is where I see the beautiful unity of libfive inside OpenSCAD
<lf94>
It won't happen though since I think they want manifold's SDF capabilities (which are orders of magnitude slower)
<guso78[m]>
I believe i have found a very effective solution to this Problem but apparanzly i dont have time right now to finalizr IT.
<guso78[m]>
Best SDF Feature IS to size any Objekt correctly with ease!
<guso78[m]>
All SDF functionality of manifold IS Contained in a single Header File i believe ...

kintel: Thanks for the advice. Yes, I will do my best to keep the scope narrow and make my work "depth-first" so that I get a mergeable product instead of incomplete changes to a lot of things. In the case of OpenCSGRenderer, I expect that *some* of it will get moved, because last summer I adapted parts of it into CGALRenderer to allow shaders in F6 mode
