hello, my friends and I are currently implementing an RNN with mlpack. Looking through the Neural Network tutorial, we noticed this line of code: "model.Add<IdentityLayer<> >()".
< AiApprentice>
I guess this implements an Identity function: f(x) = x. However, it is only used in the example for the RNN, not the FFN.

Our question is: Why add an Identity Layer, and why add it in some situations but not others? Thank you for your time

Never mind, I read the chat logs and found my answers on the log of 3 days ago, 19 November :)
