there are also instructions on the wiki how to create NFO files manually (lots of work) or through third part applications (usually a learning curve).

you can check the firewall settings in LibreElec Settings/Network, but I think it's Off by default.

<ausserz>

<ausserz>
im trying to get zomboid openvpn to connect to mullvad but it's asking for my password
<ausserz>
mullvad doesnt have password though
<ausserz>
oh right seems like i just need to my acc number as password
<mack>
ausserz: see /topic :)
<ausserz>
oh right sorry
<ausserz>
is there a way i can access the filesystem of my libreelec on my pc, so like a network drive
<ausserz>
so i can drag plugins into it
<mack>
samba shares are enabled by default, I think.

how do i connect samba
<ausserz>
yes, i can see that samba is enabled in the libreelec settings menu
<ausserz>
ahhh, \\192.168.xx.xx
<ausserz>
need that "\\" i see
<mack>
and I just noticed that the addon directory isn't one of the default shares. You might want to SSH in to move whatever addon. Or use a file transfer program what will get you to /storage/.kodi/addons
<ausserz>
i just downloaded an addon .zip and then moved into the external ssd thats connected to my raspberr pi through shared drives

hello all, im facing configuration issue with libreelec, is there somebody to give me a hand pls?
<mack>
Guest70: Just ask a specific question, and someone might be able to help when they see it.
<Guest70>
oh ok cool thx. here's my issue. im using kodi on librelec on Rpi 3 since a while, but since a few weeks, some troubles appeared (YouTube addon & twitch addon didnt work anymore).
<Guest70>
I am now trying to fix them, but I would like to find a way to check if LibreElec can access Internet freely
<Guest70>
weather forecast cannot be displayed, and i cannot install any other add-on
<mack>
Guest70: Youtube changed something their side recently and a youtube addon update was necessary. I have no experience with the twitch addon.
<mack>
Ah, that might be a problem with network access then. Are you able to use SSH to log in remotely?
<mack>
Another test would be to see if a samba client can see your libreelec Pi at \\<your Pi's IP address>\
<Guest70>
you perfectly right, that is what i was about to check
<Guest70>
(but i didnt know how)
<Guest70>
ok from another PC on same network, i can access LibreElec Pi using \\Pi's IP address\
<Guest70>
permission denied for SSH without credential
<Guest70>
(im gonna doublecheck if SSH is configured on Pi
<mack>
default login username/password via SSH is root/libreelec. If you can log in you can try something like ping google.com to see if the Pi has access to the internet
<Guest70>
thank you very much. SSH is now active
<Guest70>
im connected as root on RPI and I can ping Google.com
<Guest70>
Can we conclude that Network access is OK?
<mack>
seems like it, yes.
<mack>
if updating or installing an addon is failing, you might need to turn on logging and see if there are some clues or errors in the log files.
<ausserz>
is it possible to make kodi play blob streams?
<Guest70>
oh, i have succeed to install an addon from librelec repository
<Guest70>
it seems that addon from kodi repository cannot be installed
<Guest70>
(a dependancies list is shown first, then after clicking on Install, window disappear without installing the addon)
<Guest70>
ok i think that i will now be able to fix the others issues
<Guest70>
thank you again for your help mack!
<mack>
np, and good luck, Guest70

Do I need to worry about upgrading my Pi4 to LE10 if I don't have any addons?
<ngc0202>
I'm also a little confused on the status of LE10. In the blog post it was called a `stable "alpha"` whatever that means
<ngc0202>
Now it's beta?
<ngc0202>
Aaalso, I assume HBR means high bitrate, but what does that actually mean? What's the threshold for HBR?
<ngc0202>
I've been running some relatively large audio streams through it, have they been degraded this whole time?
ausserz has joined #libreelec
<mack>
ngc0202: lots of people are running LE10 on Pi4 without trouble if they aren't using it for bleeding edge encoding. I understand HBR to be an unofficial term for TrueHD or DTS-HD (ie, high bit rate audio steams over hdmi)
<mack>
and yes, the main reason for many to not switch to LE10 is updated addons
<ngc0202>
I imagine HEVC isn't "bleeding edge" right?
<mack>
ngc0202: correct, x265 is supported on the Pi4. It's possible to go crazy with the bitrate and exceed the capabilities of cheap hardware, though.
<ngc0202>
What did it do before this then? I'm pretty sure I've played a DTS-HD file through it
