<sneed> Hiya, My Mi box has a feature where when I press the power button it goes to sleep and turns the TV screen off, but is available to wake up the TV once a button is pressed on the remote. I was wondering if there was a away to mimic this behaviour on a Pi 4 with LibreElec.

<mack> sneed: on one of my Pi LE boxes, I use a macroing remote to initiate screen saver, and that triggers CEC to sleep the TV. Could also just wait for the screen saver to trigger with the time delay with no button press.
<mack> There are also hardware button options via GPIO pins.

<sneed> mack, my screensaver doesn't trigger CEC, the screen just dims and stays dimmed until i wake up the box or get up and turn off the TV using the button on the TV
<sneed> TV technically isn't a TV but a cisco LCD-110-PRO-52S, but the mi box can trigger CEC so i don't think this matters
<mack> if I recall, you have to tell kodi what to do. Something like Kodi Settings -> Input -> CEC
<mack> the kodi wiki will have the documentation.
<sneed> Also, for some reason the power button on my remote (mi box 3 remote) enables mute instead of bringing up the power menu

<mack> there's a link to the keymap file in that CEC documentation on the kodi wiki also to configure your remote keys :)
<sneed> the remote isn't CEC it's bluetooth
<mack> it should just be acting like a keyboard then, correct?
<sneed> i'm not sure how it works, maybe more like a controller?
<sneed> i think it shows up as a controller
<mack> ah, you're probably right. I forgot my bluetooth controller isn't like most :)

<mack> you probably don't even have to mess with keymap or joystick config files. I think there's a controller config GUI in Input settings.

<sneed> I tried that but the mi remote isn't an option, only things like dualshock, NES controller, etc
<mack> I'd curl that xbt.sh file and examine it before passing to bash to run, however :)
<mack> good luck. I'm out for a while.
<sneed> Okay, thanks for the help :)
