<notK> yes hello, when is 19.0 getting a full alpha release?
<pragmaticenigma> notK: alpha was a long time ago, usually progression of a new release is dev => alpha (internal testing) => beta (user testing) => release candidate (general testing) => release
<notK> oh man
<notK> did I just go full retard
<notK> ?
<pragmaticenigma> I think that's a bit harsh, I'd blame a small brain synapse misfire
<pragmaticenigma> as far as releases go notK ... dev focus has been on RPi 4 and currently 19.1 is in Beta 3. All other releases are supposed to come shortly after the release of RPi 4's release. No firm dates have been announced
<notK> that's great news actually.
<pragmaticenigma> why is that?
<notK> in terms of releases in my experience, that right there means an official isn't too far off from a release
<notK> I'm looking forward to an official release for the RPI 4, very much so
<notK> mostly because I want to see whats been fixed from 9.2.6
<pragmaticenigma> KODI 19.x is a completely new platform. The biggest change was the drop of support for Python 2, meaning a large number of plugins will no longer work. As for LE10 (which brings in KODI 19.x) there is a lot of work being done with the decoders and compatibility with the RPi 4 hardware (I'm gerneralzing here, as I don't completely understand the archtecture changes going into LE10)
<notK> don't worry
<notK> I don't understand the archtecture changes much either
<notK> but there were a number of bugs that were persistent in LE through multiple versions so I'm wanting to see if those are fixed
<pragmaticenigma> given the massive overhaul of both LE and KODI, those issues may have been resolved, but I would imagine new ones will take their place
<notK> well
<notK> that'll happen
<pragmaticenigma> I haven't run into many bugs with any version of LE... though I stick to local media playback. My streaming needs are handled by Roku devices
<pragmaticenigma> I think the worst is usually the scrapers, and that's more a fault of KODI
<notK> honestly?
<notK> the streaming has come leaps and bounds in terms of progress
<notK> there's just some window clipping bs
<notK> I've noticed in multiple versions of LE
<notK> I never complained cos it's never been that big of a deal to me
<notK> though, there were 3 versions where performance over wifi was just severely lacking
<pragmaticenigma> Mine are hardwired, or make use of external WiFi to ethernet bridges. trying to stream any HD content on wifi has always had issues for me, even under the most optimal conditions, and not strictly LE
<pragmaticenigma> Those little wifi nubs are a joke
<notK> well, I have one hardwired now, and another on 5.8ghz
<notK> and both work just fine
<notK> but for awhile there.. especially on the 3B+ performance on wifi was horrendous
<notK> ofc I've learned a lot in that time

<mack> the pi4 10 beta 9.95.4 image = 10 beta 4, that the third sentence of the LibreELEC 10 section requests, correct?
<mack> I have no need for neither widevine nor any new features on my LE box, so I'm only going by the document.
