I wouldn't mind. I've been using it anyway, and am working on a patch for node

I see kiss generates a tarball during an install of a program, is this copied anywhere?
<phinxy>
What's the reason for sed > _; mv _ Makefile; in community builds? Can't sed overwrite the file directly?
<ioraff>
If you're referring to the tarball that gets generated at the end of a build, it's, by default, in ~/.cache/kiss/bin.
<ioraff>
most sed implementations can, but 'sed -i' isn't posix-compliant
<ioraff>
ideally, we'd use ed, but busybox ed can't handle regex.
<ioraff>
sed -i used to be the one exception to POSIX dylan made, but that changed eventually
<phinxy>
good stuff

Attempting to install gimp 2.99.10. Using the patches from "kiss-garbage". configure wants gobject-introspection, i've encountered it before. is it something I just have to install?

illiliti: what software makes you pay to contribute?
<phoebos>
> software must be floss
<phoebos>
> end of story
<phoebos>
i feel like "deal-breaker" is more accurate
<phoebos>
it's end of story if the software isn't floss
<phoebos>
if it is floss, there are other conditions
<phoebos>
anyway, i like the idea illiliti but what do you want people to do with it? read it to make sure they follow everything? or include in projects somehow?

noocsharp: those which require subscription first

phoebos: i will make it more clear, thanks
<illiliti>
i created it for the same reason the (FL)OSS definition exists
<illiliti>
i just mean the different kind of freedom
<illiliti>
(FL)OSS ensures freedom for its users, whereas respectful-software goes further as you see
<illiliti>
maybe i'll create a badge or something, so that everyone who thinks that their software qualify can include it
