<sidd-dino> sorry about the repeated join messages
<sidd-dino> I've got kisslinux booting but for some reason whenever I start X my touchpad is never recognised.
<sidd-dino> It's an elantech touchpad. I enabled the required kernel options. Yet nothing happens. Searched the internet, and the answers are inconsistent.

<stjohn> sidd-dino: X can be fiddly about these things. If you built the driver as a module, first thing is to run modprobe to load that module. If it's still not working automatically you may need to create a custom config file in /etc/X11/xorg.conf.d.

<stjohn> illiliti: You're a genius. Your first suggestion worked --- I rebuilt musl first, then gcc, then the rest. Thank you so much for the help!

<illiliti> ioraff: does glib install libintl for you?
<ioraff> no
<illiliti> the latest one 2.73.1 right?
<ioraff> right
<illiliti> ok thanks
<ioraff> looks like a release with pcre2 is imminent
chomwitt has quit [Ping timeout: 240 seconds]
<illiliti> glib or sway?
<ioraff> glib. an issue was made for a new release of sway, but it hasn't seen any progress in awhile.
<ioraff> or rather, the accompanying milestone hasn't seen any progress in awhile
<illiliti> since sway depends on latest wlroots, they can't make new release until udev regression is fixed
<illiliti> or they can, but that would be a slap in the face to freebsd folks and me
<illiliti> if glib release with pcre2 is imminent, i think the best option is to wait until sway make a new relelase to avoid having pcre1 and prce2 in repository
<illiliti> what do you think?
<ioraff> and apparently a number of other things, according to the milestone. since backporting the pcre2 changes to sway 1.7 is quite trivial, I think we should do that.
<illiliti> yeah, backporting is good idea too
<illiliti> btw guys look at this https://www.openssl.org/policies/openssl_icla.pdf
<illiliti> should we consider moving back to libressl? xd
