re. scratch marks: there is a tiny scratched-up point on my lower case which lines up perfectly with the ground pin on the sync connector. I can't imagine how that would do anything, on its own at least, but I figure it's food for thought

I measure the lip to case floor at 1.76mm, and the pins on the sync connector 1.72mm below the board surface. I could definitely see the board flexing 0.04mm when plugging in a cable to port B
