dnkl changed the topic of #foot to: Foot - fast, lightweight and minimalistic Wayland terminal emulator || 1.19.0 || https://codeberg.org/dnkl/foot || channel logs: https://libera.irclog.whitequark.org/foot
<Arnavion> Not just your own foot build, but you need debug symbols for libs like pixman. Your distro probably has debug symbols packages
<arahael> Arnavion: Ah, for pixman also. I'll look into it when I get some time.
<arahael> Well, getting those symbols was very easy. Running it again.
<arahael> Also, I discovered how to reproduce this quickly, with some possible red herrings:
<arahael> 1. Start foot. 2. Maximise to full screen on 4k screen, using KDE on wayland with ATI drivers (Possible red herring). 3. Turn the screen off. 4. Touch keyboard and/or click mouse on window. 4. Turn screen back on. (Foot has already crashed at this point)
<arahael> Erm, not ATI drivers. I meant AMD drivers.

<arahael> Oh, and I do have tweak.damage-whole-window=yes
<arahael> I need that otherwise the rendering gets borked.

<dnkl> arahael: I don't see anything out of the ordinary there. Which CPU architecture is this? which compositor, and version? which version of foot?
<dnkl> a run with WAYLAND_DEBUG=1 might also be useful
<arahael> dnkl: AMD Ryzen 7 7800X3D 8-Core Processor
<dnkl> ok, so just x86. Good, that makes it easier
<arahael> dnkl: I've assumed I'm using Plasma, as I've got the stock KDE setup going on Debian Trixie with wayland.
<arahael> foot version: 1.19.0 +pgo +ime +graphemes +toplevel-icon -assertions
<arahael> Yep, Plasma version 5.27.11
<arahael> I'll have to do the WAYLAND_DEBUG thing after work.

<arahael> dnkl: I reproduced it with WAYLAND_DEBUG, however, Plasma also crashed. When plasma restarted, I stopped being able to trivially reproduce the crash in foot.
<arahael> dnkl: So I think that diagnostic log isn't going to be useful. I'll try updating the system again and if it reproduces again **without** plasma crashing, I'll let you know.

<arahael> Reproduced, and in my recent `apt upgrade`, plasma was not included in the packages that required upgrade.
