dnkl changed the topic of #foot to: Foot - fast, lightweight and minimalistic Wayland terminal emulator || 1.19.0 || https://codeberg.org/dnkl/foot || channel logs: https://libera.irclog.whitequark.org/foot
<arahael> Lately I've been noticing that when I get back to my computer, my foot terminal is... Gone...
<arahael> How do I troubleshoot this?
<arahael> Either it's crashed, or I, or KDE, must have somehow killed it.

<manio> arahael: check in dmesg if indeed it has crashed
<manio> or you can start it from another terminal and when it exit/crashes you probably have some info in the origin terminal
<manio> another: I mean something other then foot ofc :)
<jpp> f_ great terminal yes! ;)
<arahael> Heh, good idea.

<arahael> It's indeed in dmesg ^^
<arahael> I'm on Debian Trixie, if it matters.
<manio> arahael: are you able to reproduce this problem every time?
<arahael> I don't know what the trigger is, however, I do notice that I've only noticed it when the terminal is full screen.
<arahael> And never while I'm using it.
<manio> it would be great if you'd be able to provide a backtrace for this
<arahael> Is there an easy way I can enable logs or something?
<arahael> I'm also happy to try building my own version, not opposed to that, that way I'd be on the latest foot, as well.
<arahael> foot version: 1.19.0 +pgo +ime +graphemes +toplevel-icon -assertions
<arahael> Looks like I'm already on the latest.
<manio> so you compiled it yourself or have it from https://packages.debian.org/trixie/foot
<arahael> The latter. (From teh packages)
<arahael> libpixman-1-0/testing 0.44.0-3 amd64 [upgradable from: 0.42.2-1+b1]
<arahael> Looks like I'm on a slightly older libpixman. I guess I should do an upgrade, and see how it goes.
<manio> if it doesn't help then run in from gdb and provide a backtrace
<arahael> Good idea. I'll report back in a few days.
<arahael> Or whenever I get the result :)

<arahael> manio: Crashed tonight again.
<arahael> However it's midnight so I must get to sleep. I'll read any scrollback here. :)
<manio> no symbols :(
<manio> but maybe dnkl can recover something from this...
<manio> dnkl: ^^^
