I'm trying to make my laptop's one camera do two things at the same time.... I wrote a script that checks if my pretty face is in view and if not for 30 seconds it locks up the screen. But I want to also be able to be in zoom meetings while this is live

Why is it so hard to two two things at once. is it because each app might try to recofigure the camera sensor array to send a different resolution or framerate, and one physical camera can not do two framerates or resolutions at once?

my camera lists a 1280x720 rate at mjpg encoding, but when I copy video0 to video2 and 3 with ffmpeg 2 and 3 show 640x480
