the next v5.18.X will have a couple of riscv backports, but nothing too interesting yet that would affect us

Anup is working on the patches for OpenSBI to have Kconfig build systems

In other words the generic firmware size is somewhat big and in the future we should be able to configure exactly what will be part of that binary

So you can build it from very machine specific to a huge one that supports every platform, uart, etc.
