queeup: Try [this][1] (instructions for RPi4) with the [RPi 3 EDK2 firmware][2]. You'll likely want to opt for the "Separate firmware disk mode" in the docs. I tried this a while ago but had no luck for reasons I couldn't quite determine, but in theory that should be what you need to do.
<queeup[m]>
I couldn't manage to boot unfortunately. Is there a uboot solution? Maybe some uboot files to add EFI partition?

<queeup[m]>
I was lucky. I just installed bcm2835-firmware package too along with other rpi4 /boot/efi packages and coreos works perfectly with rpi3.
<queeup[m]>
Only problem is somehow sdcard not booting. USB boots ok.
<queeup[m]>
* somehow sdcard is not booting.
<queeup[m]>
* with rpi3 and uboot.
<queeup[m]>
Now let me see if this coreos install also works on rpi4. I mean same usb to boot rpi3&4

Yes It works. Same install works both rpi 3 and 4
<queeup[m]>
Now there is no excuse for build a raspberry pi image and put it to the download section 🤣
<queeup[m]>
For more recognition, I think this is must have. If people can download raspberry pi image directly from website and put it to sdcard without doing uboot preparations, It would be phenomenal.
<queeup[m]>
Please consider this seriously.
<spresti[m]>
dustymabe: its going, I have been back and forth juggling fcos and centos release for coreos-installer.

dustymabe: I ended up doing a clean slate build, due to some worries about having conflicting builds after speaking with bgilbert . Sigh unfortunately I accidently missed the removal of ppce for testing and stable. So I just started another clean slate build for them...
<spresti[m]>
sigh, I have been keeping track of all my builds in the issues, its been a number of builds.
<spresti[m]>
dustymabe: I am hopeful, if things go smoothly today I should be able to release.

Probably this method works for `raspberry pi zero 2 w` also. I don't have it. If somebody has it please test it.

queeup, what is the benefit to install Fedora CoreOS on rPi, instead of installing Fedora IoT ? This is true question. What is your point of view?...
<MatthieuSaulnier>
I'm wondering why, because I installed almost 10 rPi with Fedora IoT...

Hmm good question. IoT doesn't support ignition. Ignition is very good and easy way to deploy my raspberry's. Other than that I don't like zezere to manage ssh keys (I know I can add keys on the install stage).
<MatthieuSaulnier>
queeup, indeed. To get the same effect as ignition on Fedora IoT, I was studying the idea of building my personal ostree chroots. Nothing has been done yet.

<queeup[m]>
Or you can force the developers to build a solid raspberry pi support with downloadable image for it and you can put that image all of your pi's without learning ostree chroots. 😅
<queeup[m]>
There is something odd with coreos raw image. Raspberry pi 3 doesn't want to boot from sdcard with that image. But if I put that sdcard to RP4 it works. I checked sdcard with other images (IoT, raspberrt pi OS) and all are booting fine with both RP3 & 4. But the mystery is If I use USB to boot It works in all cases. Any idea or hint on this mystery?

bgilbert: I just messing with you guys. Sorry for being stubborn about this topic. I am not going to bother you from here about this anymore. I will open an issue on github for this topic. If I know where to put that please share with me.
<queeup[m]>
But this sdcard boot issue I was mentioned, I will speak about it more.
<queeup[m]>
I know you didn't test it with Pi3. I am doing these tests now and reporting to you :)
<bgilbert>
spresti[m]: maybe 36 hours starting in 20 minutes?
<spresti[m]>
bgilbert: Nice catch, yeah. we could do 36 hrs and 20 mins.
<bgilbert>
or even 24 hours starting in 20 minutes
<spresti[m]>
s/36/24/, s/hrs/in/, s/and//
<spresti[m]>
Can I just abandon the pr and re-do the roll otu?
<spresti[m]>
s/otu?/out/
<bgilbert>
if you rerun the job it'll update the PR
<bgilbert>
queeup[m]: thanks for testing this out and reporting the issue. I don't know how much effort would be needed to improve our Pi support but I agree that it's worth considering
