<wkawka> Hi, have you ever had this error? `Got permission denied while trying to connect to the Docker daemon socket at unix:///var/run/docker.sock: Get http://%2Fvar%2Frun%2Fdocker.sock/v1.25/info: dial unix /var/run/docker.sock: connect: permission denied (docker.go:1027:0s)`. I am in the docker group, I have changed also permissions for
<wkawka> `/var/run/docker.sock` to 666

<gotmax[m]> <wkawka> "`/var/run/docker.sock` to 666" <- That is not a good idea to set the permissions like that. Make sure that the docker daemon is started and that docker shows up in the output of the groups command.

<wkawka> I seen this workaround at different forums. Daemon is started and docker is visible in groups command

<dustymabe> haha - nice time to put your head down and focus on something
<dustymabe> jlebon: I wrote a butane config to automate bringing up a beefy instance to run a lab/workshop on for our FCOS tutorials
<dustymabe> i'd like to commit it somewhere
<dustymabe> any idea where might be a good place?
<dustymabe> probably not in the docs repo (though maybe?) -
<dustymabe> was thinking in the pipeline repo alongside our other "provisioning" instructions for multi-arch builders
<dustymabe> but I don't know the best place
jcajka has joined #fedora-coreos
<jlebon> dustymabe: this is different from the butane in the tutorial section?
<dustymabe> yeah, this is a butane config that will "set up" a lab env instance that you can then give out usernames/password and the IP address that people can use
<dustymabe> i.e. it streamlines the env (gives users something consistent) for when you are going to put on a workshop
<dustymabe> rather than dealing with people trying to figure out how to start a VM on their Window's PC they just ssh into a FCOS instance
saroy has joined #fedora-coreos
<jlebon> gotcha. hmm, I think it makes most sense in the docs repo, but I guess somewhere we just don't render?
<jlebon> do you e.g. layer libvirt?
<dustymabe> jlebon: yeah - I do.. that was easier than the alternative
<jlebon> yeah, if it's roughly tied to the requirements of the tutorial i'd vote for docs repo

<guesswhat> when we can expect new version of fcos? or is possible to test podman 4.2.0 on older versions? thanks
<dustymabe> guesswhat: there will be a new `testing` and `next` release this week with it in there
<dustymabe> you can grab a dev build from the unofficial builds browser if you like
<guesswhat> thanks

<dustymabe> lucab: is there anyone in particular that is well suited to review https://github.com/coreos/fedora-coreos-config/pull/1916 ?
<dustymabe> hey marmijo - I think we need to get you access to the pipeline so you can run the releases
<dustymabe> marmijo: what's your Fedora account username?

<jlebon> ahhh k
<dustymabe> MichaelArmijo[m]: try to log in now and see if you can get access
<gursewak> dustymabe, nothing from my side either.
<MichaelArmijo[m]> dustymabe: jlebon: I'm in now. Thank you both!
<MichaelArmijo[m]> I also cant access this: https://jenkins-fedora-coreos.apps.ocp.ci.centos.org/
<dustymabe> hmm - why are you trying to access that URL?
<jlebon> where did you get that URL from? it needs updating :)
* dustymabe guesses we need to update some docs somewhere
<MichaelArmijo[m]> jlebon: I got it from this doc https://github.com/coreos/fedora-coreos-streams/blob/main/RELEASE.md#prerequisites which is linked in the release checklist issue
<dustymabe> MichaelArmijo[m]: can you open a PR to update that
<jlebon> +1
nb7 has joined #fedora-coreos
<jlebon> you can wait until the release is done in case other tweaks are needed
<dustymabe> and update the text to be something like "Access to the [fedora-coreos-pipeline namespace]() in the Fedora OpenShift instance
<MichaelArmijo[m]> dustymabe: jlebon: will do!

<dustymabe> jlebon: if I backport https://github.com/coreos/coreos-installer/pull/963 to the rpm for rawhide then that should be good enough to pass tests that use coreos-installer?
<dustymabe> or do I need to backport it further?
jpn has quit [Ping timeout: 268 seconds]

<bgilbert> dustymabe: oh yeah, I guess we've created a backport hazard for ourselves there
<bgilbert> dustymabe: also, let's drop the F35 removal to avoid confusion
<dustymabe> k
