<stephanepoq> I have further cornered the "rpm-ostree breaks system" probelm
<stephanepoq> I can reproduce it in qemu - with the discs mounted into qemu
<stephanepoq> I have a hunch that it is ther partition size
<stephanepoq> I tried to reduce the boot partition size, but I might not understand the manual

<dustymabe> stephanepoq: the boot partition should be small.. it's the root partition that should be the problem
<stephanepoq> actually I think that what I tried to copy from the manual, just got the names wrong
<dustymabe> ahh I see
<stephanepoq> the example: Adding a /var/lib/containers partition to the primary disk (https://docs.fedoraproject.org/en-US/fedora-coreos/storage/) does not work together with mirrored boot device
<stephanepoq> next data point: removed "mirror" - then it does work (root partition has correct size) and rpm-ostree works.
Wrath has joined #fedora-coreos
<dustymabe> stephanepoq: but there is no RAID?
<stephanepoq> yes - but since I removed the raid from igntion, that's what I should get
<stephanepoq> no raid = fine
<stephanepoq> no riad = resizable root partition
<stephanepoq> raid = no rpm-ostress
<stephanepoq> raid= no root partition resize
<stephanepoq> maybe someone has access to a machine with 2 4TB volumes, an can test there?
<dustymabe> stephanepoq: I think this is a better example for you to try to use: https://coreos.github.io/butane/examples/#mirrored-boot-disk
<dustymabe> the 2nd example in that section is closer to what you are trying to achieve
<stephanepoq> thanks, that look better
<stephanepoq> root in now 8GB with raid. Trying to run "rpm-ostree install" now
<stephanepoq> YES
<stephanepoq> raid & no error
<dustymabe> stephanepoq: :)
<stephanepoq> rebooing the real thing now (outside of qemu)
<dustymabe> next up.. find the limit where it fails
<stephanepoq> yes
<dustymabe> 100G 1T 2T 3T
<stephanepoq> first the real boot
<stephanepoq> to verify
<stephanepoq> rpm-ostree install runs on the real hardware, just installed vim
<stephanepoq> i have an ex100 i9 with 2 x 1,92 TB where it works
<stephanepoq> so next try would by 2TB

<anthr76[m]> Does anyone know where I should look/poke to get a Fedora silverblue type container image pushed to the Fedora registry for a ostree derivation?
<dustymabe> anthr76[m]: probably the silverblue issue tracker
<dustymabe> but.. i'd say there is a lot of ground work that would need to happen before it would come true
<dustymabe> FCOS is much closer
<anthr76[m]> Sounds good. I'll raise a issue. I don't mind writing a kickstart or something but having trouble finding where that sausage would be made. How's the progress on pushing a official FCOS container? Having that you can at least do a 'in Dockerfile rebase'

<dustymabe> anthr76[m]: you can test out the experimental one today
<dustymabe> that location will change in the future
<anthr76[m]> I'm slowly getting there... jlebon brought to my attention I can use this as a nice stop-gap for some baremetal provisioning 'config management'. I subscribed to the issue

<dustymabe> saqali: gursewak_: now that testing-devel and next-devel are both on F36 and there are no other differences between the two steams we'll disable next-devel
<saqali> dustymabe: so this is until we get F37 changes flowing into next?
<dustymabe> saqali: yeah - it will be some time before that happens (around 3 months)
<dustymabe> we may re-enable `next` if we want to experiment with some new feature there, but for now there's no difference
<dustymabe> next-devel rather

<dustymabe> oops I used my handy shell trick (# at beginning of the line)
<dustymabe> but that's not going to work in IRC :)
<anthr76[m]> Ah yes the new git release breaking all the things
<bgilbert> looks like bump-nocache-line, add-override, remove-graduated-overrides
<bgilbert> the other actions that use it don't run it in a container
<bgilbert> I assume ubuntu-latest hasn't broken their git yet
<bgilbert> oh, it's a CVE fix, so maybe not
<bgilbert> ugh, no, they have
