Since 5.19 is already in testing, I guess it will land in stable soon. Is is planned for the next release?

basvdlei: I'd read that mail more carefully; "up to X" can be very deceiving. The 70% case looks highly synthetic to me. It looks closer to a 10% hit for *large* systems (100 + vCPU). And you can always trade off security vs speed, changing kargs on FCOS is fully supported. In this case it's `spectre_v2=off`
<basvdlei>
walters: thanks, yeah I need to get some real perf numbers on my side. I was just wondering if other users should be notified about this potential drop/workaround.

walters: do you mind running through one of those layering examples with the most recent rawhide (now manifest listed) and see if you hit any issues?
<walters>
ah yeah sorry I am conflating the manifest list and moving discussions
<dustymabe>
yeah the manifest list is done.
<dustymabe>
moving to the new repo should be as simple as switching out the secret in the cluster and using the new string representing the new repo
<dustymabe>
the "mirroring" is the part that isn't defined
<dustymabe>
mirroring to the old location
<walters>
seems easy to make a cron job to do it, or run a small new pod. But in the end we can also just let it get out of date for a bit, socialize the new location, and just hard delete the old ones in a month probably too

walters: I added some more to the commit ^^
<dustymabe>
since we'll use this secret to push the kubevirt container in the future too I gave it a new name rather than re-using `oscontainer secret`

walters: one more stamp there and I'll merge it and set up the secrets in cluster
