<dustymabe> travier[m]: any clues on s390x liblockfile postprocess failure
<lucab> dustymabe: it's an rpm-ostree bug I'd say
<jlebon> yup, agreed. the rpmfi overrides stuff isn't being aware of remove-from-packages
<jlebon> can you file an rpm-ostree issue? a workaround short-term is to move this to a postprocess script
<dustymabe> i'd prefer not to file an issue
<dustymabe> i'm tired :(
<jlebon> ack. that's ok :) i'll file one later today
<lucab> I can do that, I was already looking at the thing before meetings started
<jlebon> +1 thanks!
<lucab> but yes we should unfortunately move it out of `remove-from-packages` for the moment
crobinso has joined #fedora-coreos
<jlebon> dustymabe: since we just cut a release, i guess it doesn't matter too much. i've been scarred by the microcode_ctl event where fast-tracking backfired on us.
<dustymabe> yeah, that update is already marked for stable so it's coming soon anyway
<jlebon> so, cool with it if you'd like to fast-track
<dustymabe> +1
<jlebon> some interesting discussions related to this in the bodhi update btw: https://bodhi.fedoraproject.org/updates/FEDORA-2022-d0c322d15a
<dustymabe> want to review?
<dustymabe> yeah I saw the discussion there
<jlebon> stamped
<travier[m]> I had made https://github.com/coreos/fedora-coreos-config/pull/1904 to give it a try
<travier[m]> lucab: Are you filing the issue and I'll make the post-process workaround or do you prefer the reverse?
jpn has quit [Ping timeout: 268 seconds]
<lucab> travier: yes, I was writing https://github.com/coreos/rpm-ostree/issues/3918 right now
<spresti[m]> Hmmm.
<spresti[m]> Should I just retry them?
<dustymabe> spresti[m]: let me look
<spresti[m]> Thank you dustymabe
jpn has joined #fedora-coreos
<travier[m]> lucab: thanks!
frigo has joined #fedora-coreos
<dustymabe> spresti[m]: honestly it looks like some reasons are having issues
<dustymabe> some regions*
<lucab> reboot AWS then?
<spresti[m]> nah uninstall / reinstall right?
<dustymabe> no, hard power off, wait 5 minutes and then reboot
<dustymabe> spresti[m]: I'd say just wait 30 minutes and retry
<dustymabe> luckily the job knows how to pick up where it left off
<spresti[m]> Yaaay :) ok, will do.
jcajka has quit [Quit: Leaving]
<jlebon> lucab: thanks for the systemd link. incorporated into https://github.com/coreos/ignition/issues/1440.

<dustymabe> gursewak: saqali: ready when you are

<jlebon> hah, didn't realize prow spoke dependabot: https://github.com/coreos/rpm-ostree/pull/3920#issuecomment-1209527621
<dustymabe> ha
<dustymabe> gursewak: I remembered that thing from earlier
<dustymabe> we need someone to look at https://github.com/coreos/coreos-assembler/issues/3030
<dustymabe> we keep hitting `InsufficientInstanceCapacity` for our kola aws tests
<gursewak> dustymabe, will look into it.
<spresti[m]> Can I get another approval on this https://github.com/coreos/fedora-coreos-streams/pull/545
<dustymabe> jlebon: do you know why testiso tests journal.txt is more like "raw" format than plain text
<dustymabe> also, do you know how we can manage to get onto the test system that failed in https://github.com/coreos/fedora-coreos-tracker/issues/1275
<dustymabe> the test just times out
<dustymabe> so it doesn't detect the failure, so I assume --ssh-on-test-failure won't work
<jlebon> dustymabe: you are a man of many questions :)
<dustymabe> i'm full of them
<jlebon> re. journal, the way we gather journal logs in testiso is done differently
<jlebon> i think we could probably write both a journal.txt and a journal-json.txt or something
<jlebon> because i agree the JSON format isn't super useful as a default
<dustymabe> yeah, it's not terrible, just not what you expect (reduce's efficiency)
<jlebon> yup sure
<jlebon> see newQemuBuilder in testiso.go
<jlebon> re. next question, looking
<jlebon> dustymabe: are you debugging this locally?
<dustymabe> Would like to try
<jlebon> one hack is to use --console. you'll have access to the VM, but race with the timeout
<jlebon> you could hack cosa to bump the timeout to something larger
<dustymabe> 10minutes should be plenty
<dustymabe> ok i'm trying it now
<jlebon> +1
misuto has quit [Remote host closed the connection]
<dustymabe> yeah the console just is stuck in the same place
<dustymabe> it's either frozen or not read/write
misuto has joined #fedora-coreos
<jlebon> hmm, we may have regressed somewhere because it definitely worked in the past
<dustymabe> yeah, I just ran it again and verified I could stop the boot menu
<dustymabe> so it is read/write
<dustymabe> it's like the machine is freezing at a certain point in time
<dustymabe> with no logs
<jlebon> can you confirm ttyS0 is in the kargs?
<dustymabe> yeah: console=tty0 console=ttyS0,115200n8
<jlebon> what are the last logs you see?
<dustymabe> If I could get SSH into the machine I could poke around more
<jlebon> as a first approximation, I would try to just reproduce what the test does manually in a `cosa run -p qemu-iso`
<jlebon> -c
<jlebon> and then in the installed machine try running the same commands as:
