<lucab> guesswhat: it's a plain-text socket, not an HTTP. You'd need something that understands HTTP and can bridge to the local socket.
<guesswhat> yes, i had to use haproxy, but thanks
<lucab> guesswhat: I didn't know haproxy could do that, can you share the config in a ticket? We may want to add that to the docs.

<lucab> guesswhat: I was playing with caddy some time ago instead, I have never finished polishing it, but it looks like this https://github.com/lucab/caddy-local-metrics-proxy/blob/main/examples/zincati.Caddyfile
<guesswhat> haproxy can talk to unix socket
<guesswhat> so one is able to create reverse proxy with unix backend
<lucab> yes, I'm just surprised it doesn't expect an HTTP server on that unix socket too
<guesswhat> curl --http0.9 --unix-socket /run/zincati/public/metrics.promsock is working

saqali__ has quit [Ping timeout: 248 seconds]
<lucab> meh, it works by pure chance, there is nothing speaking HTTP0.9 on that socket :)
<guesswhat> its broken even in haproxy :X my mistake
jpn has joined #fedora-coreos
<guesswhat> lucab ,seems latest changes https://quay.io/repository/lucab/local_exporter?tab=info didn make it, is it anything important?
<guesswhat> its still 3y old image ( latest tag )
<lucab> ah, there was a network error, let me see if I can re-trigger the build
jpn has quit [Ping timeout: 240 seconds]
<lucab> not today, it seems. quay is currently throwing back 400 errors when trying to start a build

<guesswhat> lucab: thinking about using somehing like this socat TCP-LISTEN:8003,crlf,reuseaddr,fork SYSTEM:"echo HTTP/1.0 200; echo Content-Type\: text/plain; socat STDOUT UNIX-CONNECT:/r
<guesswhat> un/zincati/public/metrics.promsock", but i am not sure if this could work
<guesswhat> lucab: got it working socat TCP-LISTEN:8011,crlf,reuseaddr,fork SYSTEM:'echo HTTP/1.0 200; echo Content-Type\: text/plain; echo; socat - "UNIX-CONNECT:/run/zincati/public/metrics.promsock"'
