<stephanepoq> somthing wrong is going on with zincati here: usually I would expect a immediate update & reboot here: https://justpaste.it/8gl7f
<stephanepoq> https://updates.coreos.fedoraproject.org <-- 404, is the correct?

<travier[m]> I won't be available today for the OKD WG meeting. I would appreciate if someone could cover FCOS for me.
<stephanepoq> it might be ok: https://justpaste.it/36bpf
<stephanepoq> I'm confused
<stephanepoq> no, it schould update to: 36.20220522.3.0

<dustymabe> stephanepoq: the rollout for 36.20220522.3.0 hasn't started yet
<dustymabe> the website (https://getfedora.org/en/coreos?stream=stable) shows the new version, but the download page (https://getfedora.org/en/coreos/download?tab=cloud_launchable&stream=stable&arch=x86_64) doesn't. We should probably update the first site so it doesn't have the information early

<dustymabe> jlebon: do you want to circle back on https://github.com/coreos/fedora-coreos-tracker/pull/1220 ? just want to make sure you're good with it.

<stephanepoq> dustymabe: yes, we had an automation lookin into "https://getfedora.org/en/coreos?stream=stable" - that got confused by lisiting on the page but zincanti not updating to (that version)
<stephanepoq> so that's what we should use: https://builds.coreos.fedoraproject.org/streams/stable.json
<dustymabe> stephanepoq: zincati knows how to talk to the update server and get the right target.. Are you trying to determine what to use if you launch a new node? Or are you adding some monitoring to make sure a system is up to date so you're trying to determine what the target should be?

<guesswhat61> guys? is there any prometheus exporter for zincati except the https://github.com/lucab/local_exporter ?
mnguyen_ has quit [Ping timeout: 255 seconds]
<stephanepoq> I'm actually working arround zincati :-), when we deploy a new version of the software to a host, we are checking if the CorsOS version is "current". If not i'm activate a "immediate" update strategy, restart zincate, (remove the strategry again) - a wait for the reboot
<stephanepoq> since the enpoint was giving a "wrong" version, I was waiting "forever" before zincati should restart the host
<stephanepoq> I have swtiched to "curl --max-time 30 "https://builds.coreos.fedoraproject.org/streams/stable.json" | jq -r ".architectures.x86_64.artifacts.metal.release", that should yield better results
<stephanepoq> The spirit is: a new deploy could also give a new CoreOS update
<stephanepoq> so usually, the OS would not get very old
<dustymabe> jlebon: LakshmiRavichand: this should fix the most recent bump-lockfile failure: https://github.com/coreos/fedora-coreos-pipeline/pull/538
<dustymabe> stephanepoq: I think you'd be better off querying the update server directly
<dustymabe> though lucab would be able to better answer
<guesswhat61> thinking about running https://hub.docker.com/r/alpine/socat..
<dustymabe> guesswhat61: i'm not sure, but note that socat is on the host already
<guesswhat61> dustymabe: thanks didn notice, will be better to make a systemd unit with local socat than pulling additional container
