hi guys. If I have a list of ports I want to rebuild, is there a way to rebuild them in dependency order? Kinda like what prt-get sysup does?

the quickdep output might include some ports not on your list, so if you want to restrict the rebuilding to ports on the list, you have to insert an extra filter.

Yesterday I learned something interesting about my Wayland compositor and my video card. When the monitor is connected with a true HDMI cable, powering off the monitor makes the Wayland compositor act as if an output has been lost, and I am dropped back at a login screen when I turn the monitor back on. Prior to yesterday I had only been connecting the monitor via an HDMI-to-DVI converter, and the Wayland compositor would not act this way on a poweroff event

Going back to the sway compositor (which has better support for wlr-output-management, and in fact better support for my drawing tablet) is always an option, but I don't really like how sway does its window tiling.

FYI--I've migrated to dlc.usa@dlcusa.net as my preferred email since gmail no longer supports my POP infrastructure, and zoho.com only charges $10USD/year for the service. Almost all email from me will now originate from dlcusa.net, although I'll continue to receive gmail as long as it is gratis.
<farkuhar>
dlcusa: did Gmail finally pull the plug on older authentication methods, forcing everyone to implement oauth2?
<dlcusa>
Ayup, without warning.
<farkuhar>
there was some discussion of this change, in one of the other forums that I frequent, but no documented workaround for users of text-mode mail clients. claws-mail was the closest to achieving compatibility with the new gmail requirements, but even that option has unresolved problems at this time.
<dlcusa>
They will no longer analyze my email as a result--I'm sure that suits them.
<SiFuh_>
They sent an email informing of the changes a while back
<dlcusa>
Then I missed it. Just as well, though--one needs the occasional IT infrastructure emergency to stay sharp, I think.
