<SiFuh_> I stopped using any network manager program because of constant droppages and it wasn't automatically reconnecting most of the time. I didn't see the point of a Network Manager that wasn't always managing the network so I axed it. I only use the /etc/rc.d/{wpa_supplicant,wlan,net} scripts and they are perfect
<SiFuh_> elderK: but never experienced computer crashes or resets with it

<misterbzr> I've moved away from crux for a while because building was a bit time consuming on my laptops.
<misterbzr> Been using openbsd and arch (when hardware isn't supported by openbsd), but would like to tinker with crux again.
<misterbzr> I've noticed that docker has a 3.4 image as default, does any has a newer image ake one) available?
<misterbzr> *anyone

<jaeger> I stopped updating mine quite some time ago but it's not hard to make one
<jaeger> I can give you an example if you like
<misterbzr> That would be great
<misterbzr> Do you use VM's instead?
<jaeger> I use both quite a lot
<jaeger> http://ix.io/3YaC <-- something like this
<jaeger> that creates a base image with only core ports installed, very minimal
<jaeger> Then you can do whatever you want with it
<jaeger> Are you planning to keep your ports repo updated or should I remove it from the portdb listings?
<misterbzr> well I don't know yet, so maybe remove them for a while is the best option.
<misterbzr> Thanks for the script.
<jaeger> OK, can do... and it's easy to add back later if you like
<jaeger> No problem
<misterbzr> Thanks
<dbrooke> jaeger: you could probably drop my repo from the listing too as it's not currently being maintained
<SiFuh> exodus
<misterbzr> How you're doing SiFuh?
<SiFuh> All good here
<SiFuh> You?
<misterbzr> Good to hear.
<misterbzr> Same here.
<misterbzr> Finished my studies last summer, so that's a relief.
<SiFuh> Cool
<SiFuh> Plan to study more or have another idea?
<misterbzr> Nope, for now just teaching.
<misterbzr> And tinker with crux...
<misterbzr> Been using openbsd, as per your advice. Really like it.
<SiFuh> OpenBSD is just fabulous
<misterbzr> Yes. Creating ports in crux is more straightforward, though.

<jaeger> dbrooke: ok, will do. Thanks for the heads up. If you want it added back later, no problem.
<dbrooke> thanks, busy with other stuff at the moment but if I get back to it I'll let you know
<jaeger> I know how that goes

<elderK> I love Crux :)
<elderK> The community is great and the distribution does things in a way that I feel is quite standard. There's very little bogus magic or change for the heck of it.
<elderK> Every other distribution seems to do things in their own special way and that can get really annoying.
