<Isotop> Im trying to build a custom ISO but when running make initramfs in bootstrap step I get the following error:
<Isotop> Any ideas?
<Isotop> Why are these kernel modules not built?
<Isotop> Is there an additional step I missed?
<Isotop> Sorry! I used this link: https://crux.nu/Wiki/OfficialISOBuildProcess
<SiFuh> Your kernel is missing some modules
<SiFuh> Some of those modules are pretty important to ;-)
<Isotop> Would be sufficient to just activate them in the kernel config, right?
<ocb> yes. but not sure if changing kernel .config directly handles dependent kernel modules, might want to use menuconfig
<Isotop> Strange....some of those things are already activated like `zstd` and `lzo`
<Isotop> gonna run another try
<SiFuh> Make sure they are a module and not built in
<ocb> if it's activated, check if the module file it needs exists - ../kernel/linux-5.12.14/lib/lzo/lzo_compress.ko
<SiFuh> You want M and not *
<Isotop> Oh
<Isotop> okay
<Isotop> Good hint!
<SiFuh> * will not be a .ko module. It will be built inside the kernel

<Isotop> but CRC16 cant be marked with module. I can only deactivate or activate CRC16
<Isotop> okay nvm
<Isotop> I now get the thing about dependencies in kernel building :D
<groovy2shoes> if the needed modules are built-in, it should work fine to just delete them from initramfs/initramfs.lst
<groovy2shoes> in fact, if you build the kernel with the stuff you need to boot built-in, you don't even need an initramfs
ppetrov^ has quit [Quit: Leaving]
<Isotop> Is this .lst file created somewhere when running make bootstrap or is it contained in the Crux repo?
<Isotop> It references gdth.ko which isn't available in the kernel version I'm trying to build
<groovy2shoes> it's in the repo
<groovy2shoes> the iso repo
