that was the reason to upgrade to the newer model anyway. asked my coworker whos in charge who then gave me the g7

wrt working around the nmi bug with firmware update: judging by the fact that other distros do not have the same problem I think its something in our kernel config. as i said, i do not have the same problem with 3.6 install iso either

yeah, seems likely... but without an idea what to look for, no clue as to which kernel option might cause it

haven't checked what changed between 3.6 and 3.7 yet, kernel config wise

i got the spp iso to update the firmware of that gen7 proliant now, maybe i can do that later today
