<jaeger> unrelated, here's something I've noticed lately that's strange. using ~ as a target for rsync copies no longer works
<jaeger> for example, 'rsync -a <file> user@host:~' now copies the file to a literal ~ name in the target dir
<jaeger> same with scp... wonder if this is a bash thing or openssh
<jaeger> ~/ works fine, still

<jaeger> Looking for some stuff to clean up on the server with fdupes
<farkuhar> you have to pass the -O flag to force scp to use the legacy protocol rather than sftp. More details here: https://groups.google.com/g/opensshunixdev/c/LeaacTEj0j0
<jaeger> ah... they broke shell interpretation, ok

<beerman> a big part is logging, yes. our flyspray instance seems to flood php-fpm.log..

<jaeger> Ah, right, I forgot about that shit. Maybe a flyspray or php upgrade would help
<jaeger> Though I'm not very comfortable working with either
<beerman> well, flyspray is.. lets say something.
<beerman> Mailarchive also takes a big bit, as well as various backups and such
<jaeger> I cleaned up a few things but I'll look into some aggressive rotation of the php-fpm log
<beerman> It already rotates weekly, i clean them out manually so far
<beerman> But cool. Between updates we might also want to use pkgfoster, the system seems to be running for a long time through different admins which all are not there anymore

<beerman> i see you cleaned up a bit :) i spot a few old kernels in /usr/src
<jaeger> Also no big deal if we accidentally remove something important while cleaning, I have lots of backups
<beerman> sure, i'd rather not knock things down while i am there :D
<jaeger> of course
