when in reverse, and I can change this idea, exiting exits but the motor(s) return super speed!

when I am in control of the commands, the motor returns slow while my errors create super speed.

If I was to use an optical sensor tape along w/ a reader and stepper control, what would the BBB Bone Bus peripheral need to be at that point?
