Fully dived into a new business, c programming, how lovely.
<jfsimon1981>
Coupld of weeks to get to speed in there, should be good
<set_>
Nice...do it!
<set_>
I am still learning it.
<set_>
Do not let them rush you! Good ideas and working in time pay off more!

and assembly a bit also.

<set_>
Oh and ut oh. That assembly will get the better of a person.
<set_>
I guess they are looking for speed in computing! Computing...not the person!

Needed to understand why a register couldn't be read and single step with assembly instruction fails (in a debugger that is)

Just like the ole saying, "Once you get me started, I am hard to stop!"
<jfsimon1981>
It's a bit dufferent chip, i'm dealing with an NXP imx1020, register is ENET the ethernet.
<jfsimon1981>
I work on a driver for it.
<jfsimon1981>
Then the clock isn't setup, reading the register went into halt the processor somehow ...
<jfsimon1981>
ARM 7M arhitecutre for this one.
<set_>
Keep 'em coming! I want to stay away from books on Funday Friday!
<set_>
Oops. Friday Funday. Pardon me.
<set_>
Some people wear blue jeans on Fridays, I like to not read. Smart...no. Indulgent...yes.

Has anyone else noticed that every once and a while their beagle becomes slow to respond? I use BeagleBone Black and PocketBeagle. By slow to respond, I mean that when I have a ssh session going, the beagle is slow to recognize typing? Looking to see if anyone has a solution for this, or know what causes it.

<set_>
Hmm.
<set_>
That really seems odd.
<set_>
I once typed on my terminal. The board would reply in output but w/ odd characters. This was some time ago...
<set_>
Some kernels, Debian Distros, and bootable instances like w/ u-boot are not 100% perfect.
<set_>
It could be the terminal or the cable used too.
<set_>
Maybe faulty cable or odd, none class 10, SD Card maybe. Might be...
<set_>
I sometimes track it down but it is never as it seems!
<set_>
There are so many instances that go into the BBB. I found a new one today. A framer for HDMI has many comprised parts that have nothing to do w/ hardware.
<set_>
I know!
<set_>
I was getting schooled earlier on stuff in general. Relay this, build that, read this/that, and then coming up w/ an answer was out-of-line.
<set_>
I will do it!
<set_>
KevinP: I have not noticed the BBB causing incorrect typing instances.
<set_>
What image are you using? Maybe an older Buster image w/out support for particular libraries could be the cause too.
<KevinP>
4.19
<set_>
I use 4.19 and my terminal works but I am using Bullseye instead of Buster.
<KevinP>
I have seen this a few times during testing, and I think we are seeing it in operation.
<set_>
Oh...
<set_>
Maybe wait for another person. I am not a person of interest in operations.
<set_>
I only know so much.
<KevinP>
thanks though
<set_>
KeninP: Maybe, you are welcome, try to add power via the Barrel Jack too.
<set_>
Sometimes, w/ only so many mA per pin allowed and a total mA allowed, things get constrained.
<set_>
What did you build?
<KevinP>
Controller for experiments
<set_>
Nice!
<set_>
I like doing similar things.
<set_>
I like to build broken machines into works.
<set_>
Is it weird that you are reading my text the way it is read?
<set_>
I am only having fun right now. Friday Funday. All day...I planned on helping but it takes more than ideas.
<set_>
use a pastebin.com service or a similar service. dmesg
<set_>
journalctl -xe
<set_>
Or whatever you are willing to produce...
<set_>
Trust me. There are smarter people than I in this chat. I am just barely below water here!
<set_>
Hmm. I will plug in and see what happens.
<set_>
Maybe the older Buster image?

zoom. No issue. Maybe it is more complicated than just missing keystrokes...
<set_>
Did you make a minimal image w/out mouse/keyboard support?

<set_>
For one, let me worry about me.
<set_>
Secondly, President Biden needs to learn how to communicate.
<set_>
How was I supposed to know about, "slow to respond," w/out production of logs? Not fair Cin-Cin.
<set_>
Fair enough. You win. Come back...
