<set_> I am building my BBG case now! Build!
<set_> Does anyone know if the BBG gets hotter than PLA melting points?

<zmatt> it better not, lol
<set_> ha.
<set_> Or bust!
<set_> @zmatt: Do you know anything about the SPI devices on the BBG? I am getting permission errors.
<set_> W/ LeptonModule for FLIR cameras, I receive a permission error when rw from /dev/spidev1.0.
<set_> Anyway, if you get around to it, please let me know. If not, that is okay too.
<zmatt> what does ls -l /dev/spidev1.0 show?
<set_> I will keep on trying to configure this build. Hmm. Maybe /dev/spidev1.0 is taken up by some pins that are already in use.
<set_> Hold please. Let me check.
<zmatt> and what image are you running?
<set_> | BeagleBoard.org Debian Bullseye Xfce Image 2022-05-01 && crw------- 1 root root
<set_> So?
<set_> I think only root can handle spidev1.0. Hmm.
<zmatt> looks like some udev rule is missing in the bullseye snapshot
<zmatt> rcn-ee: ^
<set_> Right.
<set_> There are no SPI rules listed.
<set_> I looked.
<set_> Should I get one from 4.19.x and write it to the 2022-05-01 image?
<zmatt> you can try transferring /etc/udev/rules.d/50-spi.rules yeah
<set_> Okay. Let me try.
<set_> @zmatt: Where would those be located online?
<set_> I am in beagleboard.org/customizations
<set_> But...not there!
<zmatt> just write this into it: KERNEL=="spidev*", GROUP="gpio", MODE="0660"
<set_> Okay.
<set_> So, 50-spi.rules in /etc/udev/rules.d/ and then a file w/ that in it. Okay.
<set_> I am rebooting now.
<set_> !
<set_> permission denied
<set_> I ran ls -l /dev/spidev1.0 and it still says root root.
<zmatt> try: sudo update-initramfs -u
<zmatt> and then reboot again
<set_> Okay. Brb!
<set_> Do I need networking for sudo update-initramfs -u to work?
<zmatt> no
<set_> Okay. the machine just booted. Let me sign in!
<set_> permission denied!
<set_> crw------- 1 root root 153, 0 May 28 04:24 /dev/spidev1.0
<zmatt> you sure you got the content of /etc/udev/rules.d/50-spi.rules _exactly_ right?
<set_> Yes.
<set_> Let me make sure.
<set_> Yeppers. I got it wrong!
<set_> I am rebooting now. The == deceived my eyes.
<zmatt> be sure to also do sudo update-initramfs -u again just to be safe
<set_> Okay.
<set_> So, it changed from root root to root gpio.
<set_> I am performing the sudo update-initramfs -u now.
<set_> And that darn 3D Printer made my case warped. Boo!
<set_> Try and try and try again. Blah.
<set_> Yeppers. That did it.
<set_> You rule. naw, naw, naw, naw!
<set_> The file does not show up in heat format but I will keep trying.
<set_> It seems I have the incorrect uboot overlay listed.
<set_> Just a red square so far!
<set_> Oh well.
<set_> I will keep on keepin' on!
<set_> Off to test more. Thank you.

<set_> https://pastebin.com/SrFXKitF should be listed in /usr/lib/arm-linux-gnueabihf/libgles-dev instead of where it is currently, right?
<set_> Anyway, that error is giving is the pits so far. If anyone knows why this is an issue in the BBG while running Qt apps, please say something at some point.
<set_> Are the Cape Headers correct for the SPI devices on the BBG?
<set_> Anyway...the Cape is wired, the Boris fellow shows up, and the Qt app. works. But...the cam is not displaying on the LCD Cape.
<set_> Hmm.
<set_> Is there anything missing that I must have by-passed?
