<kyle__> How does one load a file in the bootloader? In this case I need to replace the contents of /etc/fstab.

<DC-IRC> [Discord] <wsy1> Thanks! I quit using armbian on my pbp pro though (still using on other de devices). It is giving me frequent freezes and extreme coil whine.
<DC-IRC> [Discord] <wsy1> Might try it again when I have the UART cable to read the serial console to see what happens on the freeze. It did it a year ago and I thought it might have been patched.
<DC-IRC> [Discord] <nicod_sbc> Never had such issues.
<DC-IRC> [Discord] <wsy1> Are you also a pinebook user?

<DC-IRC> [Discord] <wsy1> I think I might have an hardware defect then because it does have an extreme loud coil whine in raspbian

<DC-IRC> [Discord] <wsy1> But last year till now it is only frustration haha
<DC-IRC> [Discord] <wsy1> On my other devices I have 0 issues with raspbian though!

<DC-IRC> [Discord] <wsy1> More like it is not raspbians fault it is just probably a hardware error
<DC-IRC> [Discord] <wsy1> As in factory fault
<DC-IRC> [Discord] <igorpec> hard to say without deep inspection. which is usuaully on users to do it
<DC-IRC> [Discord] <igorpec> but yeah, quality issues are very common here
<DC-IRC> [Discord] <wsy1> More like it is not armbians fault it is just probably a hardware error
<DC-IRC> [Discord] <wsy1> Meant this as in running this on 5-6 different models and no problems so far
<DC-IRC> [Discord] <wsy1> Ordering an 3.5mm uart usb serial cable to see why it hangs to fully exclude hardware error

<DC-IRC> [Discord] <boo2832> yes! i see driver_rtl8188EU_rtl8188ETV function
<DC-IRC> [Discord] <boo2832> how to force enable building and including this driver ?
<DC-IRC> [Discord] <Werner> I did just a quick look earler today and it seems like drive inclusion is depending on kernel version to be built. Not sure if it matches the kernel you are trying to build. Might need adjustments but prepare for breakage and fixing.
<DC-IRC> [Discord] <boo2832> branch=v23.11
<DC-IRC> [Discord] <boo2832> i don't know how to include building a driver
<DC-IRC> [Discord] <Werner> build framework branch doesn't mean anything since depending on your board various kernel versions could be considered

<DC-IRC> [Discord] <Werner> So Allwinner. legacy probably 6.1, curren 6.6
<DC-IRC> [Discord] <wsy1> Maybe a stupid question, where can I read the differences between the trixie, noble, bookworm and jammy versions?
<DC-IRC> [Matrix] <werner:matrix.armbian.de> In terms of firmware (boot loader and kernel) they are identical. The difference is the userspace where packages come from which is put on top of. Trixie and Bookworm are Debian-based while Jammy and Noble are Ubuntu.
<DC-IRC> [Discord] <wsy1> ohh thanks!
