<mischief> chrispalo: may get more eyes on the mailing list, but here is probably fine too
<chrispalo> A colleague approached Ross Burton wanting to contribute with a CycloneDX solution. I've more recently seen claims that it is being worked on, and based on https://github.com/savoirfairelinux/meta-cyclonedx. I think we've already surpassed that project. So I'd just like to check in again.
<chrispalo> Ross suggested we settle on one standard or the other, and the conversation just ended there.
<mischief> i am pretty sure SPDX SBOM exists and works today, but maybe you can hear it from the horse's mouth
<mischief> rburton: ^^
<chrispalo> It has been, but we need CycloneDX
<khem> chrispalo:why not contribute it to https://github.com/savoirfairelinux/meta-cyclonedx

<chrispalo> I'm almost certain we didn't know about it at the time. Since poky has SPDX, I was seeking concurrence to add CDX in parallel
<chrispalo> But if that is what the project prefers, I am not opposed. meta-cyclonedx hasn't been too active, and I read about how CDX is being worked but couldn't tell what exactly that meant.

<LetoThe2nd> chrispalo: unless there are die-hard reasons why CDX could not live in meta-cyclonedx, I think it has a low chance being included into core as a secondary option. maintenance, testing etc. go a long way for stuff in there.

<rburton> chrispalo: we've settled on spdx3 for sbom/vex, so we'd encourage either a separate layer to do cdx, or conversion tools. if there's any refactoring that can be done to core so that the spdx and cdx code can share code then that would be welcome.
<rburton> (paging JPEW who wrote the spdx support in case he has any thoughts)

<tlwoerner> the libpam recipe has:
<tlwoerner> BBCLASSEXTEND = "nativesdk native"
<tlwoerner> but if i do: bitbake libpam-native i get:
<tlwoerner> libpam-native was skipped: one of 'systemd pam' needs to be in DISTRO_FEATURES
<tlwoerner> but those are in DISTRO_FEATURES because i'm using poky-altcfg
<tlwoerner> is this a bug, or am i doing something wrong?
<rburton> native distro features are filtered
enok has quit [Ping timeout: 248 seconds]
<Saur> tlwoerner: You are looking for DISTRO_FEATURES_FILTER_NATIVE and/or DISTRO_FEATURES_FILTER_NATIVESDK.
mbulut has quit [Remote host closed the connection]
<rburton> tlwoerner: the question is why do you want libpam-native :)

<tlwoerner> rburton: i'm still using (stuck?) on openSUSE 15.5
<tlwoerner> about a week ago i noticed that i can't build virglrenderer-native anymore
<tlwoerner> it *looks* like my problem is the version of my kernel headers (maybe?)
<tlwoerner> so i started using the prebuilt builttools-extended tarball
alessio has quit [Quit: alessio]
<tlwoerner> but the buildtools-extended tarball doesn't have pam, so using the buildtools-extended tarball it isn't possible to compile systemd-systemctl-native
<tlwoerner> which, i think?, is required to build rust (or something)
<rburton> thats needed to build images
<tlwoerner> i might have the sequence wrong, or what fails as a result of what, but for the last week my builds are a mess
<rburton> but native distro features should have pam disabled so systemd-systemctl-native shouldn't be enabling pam
<rburton> hm i wonder if we should force everything off in that recipe
<rburton> add "--auto-features disabled" to EXTRA_OEMESON in that recipe and see if that stops it
<rburton> if that doesn't help then -Dpam=disabled should hit it with a sufficiently big hammer
<tlwoerner> when systemd-systemctl-native is built on my machine, it fails because git/src/shared/pam-util.c is looking for #include <security/pam_ext.h>
<rburton> yeah i think you've found both a bug in the recipe and a bug in the upstream meson
<rburton> the recipe doesn't force this off and the upstream meson is failing to detect sufficiently

<Guest71> hello
<Guest71> any1 have experience with using meta flutter and yocto to get a flutter app onto a raspberry pi?
<rburton> Guest71: if you have a specific question i'd ask that directly
<Guest71> Is there a specific up to date blog or video where I can follow a step by step to get flutter gallery running on raspberry pi?
<Guest71> Basically my os is a windows, and I'm using virtual box to use Linux to try to get flutter gallery using yocto and meta flutter onto an SD card where I can flash it and run it on my raspberry pi. Im a app dev and idk crap about Linux so I'm lost
<Guest71> GPT cant even help me lol
<rburton> start with just yocto+meta-raspberrypi and get a basic shell up
<Guest71> ok ill try that first.
<bigch1cken> Hi all. I have a project that I build for all non-EOL Yocto releases, different arches and configs. I use the same sstate folder for all these builds, which keeps on growing over weeks/months...
<bigch1cken> Is there a painless way to trim this folder? I found the sstate-cache-management.py script, but from its help, I think it was meant to be used on a folder which has only one user.
<bigch1cken> Or simply my decision to use a single folder wasn't the wisest, and is this a learning opportunity? :)
<LetoThe2nd> you could also just trim files with long times.
<rburton> bigch1cken: i just use "find" with -atime -delete
<bigch1cken> Oh, I didn't realize that I can do that, without doing some internal maintenance
<bigch1cken> Thanks a lot, that helps

<khem> rburton: w.r.t mesa and clang mess, I have pushed some changes into contrib branch under kraj/gcc-15 there still is one issue that I reported earlier about clc compiler not finding clang headers but I think thats the approach if we get through the issue, then we can remove clang fully from meta-clang and have it in one place
<khem> meta-clang can then do the stuff about rest of meta-clang

<Jones42> is there a way to tell the the sysroots-uninative/x86_64-linux/lib/ld-linux-x86-64.so.2 to look for libraries on my host system?
<Jones42> I'm trying to build a -native recipe for an old compiler that needs a 32-bit libc. It works natively on my machine, but not via bitbake.
