ah, one more thing: We're using FIT images with ecdsa. However there seems to be a bit of a discrepancy between ecdsa and rsa. Namely that ecdsa wants the key in a .pem file instead of .key

Tartarus: same underlying issue I think? For me the "# CONFIG_BAR is not set" options in defconfig are ignore when using clang

e.g. in qcom_defconfig we have # CONFIG_DISPLAY_CPUINFO is not set because we don't implement the function, if I use clang then this gets ignore and the default (y) for CONFIG_DISPLAY_CPUINFO is used
