Hey guys, I'm trying to start a 4.14 linux kernel with u-boot 2021.01 but the kernel won't start (no output after "starting kernel"). I tried it with the altera socfpga kernel repo. However newer versions e.g. 5.10 work fine. The issue is only with 4.14. Are older kernel versions not supported by u-boot or is there something I have missed? I'm fairly new to embedded dev.

kaitsh: and try first with uncompressed kernel, sometimes compressed kernels on some boards doesn't work

in case your kernel is obsolete broken crud, use "setenv socfpga_legacy_reset_compat 1"

Already tried but it did not help. The strange thing is I first tried it with the custom kernel I need to run. But because this did not work I tried it with a 4.14 kernel from altera. Same thing. If I run alteras 5.10 kernel it works without an issue.
