<d1b2> <johnsel> @azonenberg nice work, are we planning to make a pcap export for ethernet?
<d1b2> <johnsel> might be a usefl exporter
<azonenberg> Yes. in fact, we had one
<azonenberg> it was built into the ethernet decode filter but that was awkward
<azonenberg> it kinda bitrotted a bit and there is intent to refactor it into a standalone export filter
<azonenberg> you could export to a pcap-formatted named pipe then load that in wireshark and get a live stream of packets there
<azonenberg> USB as well, i dont know if we ever implemented it
<azonenberg> let me check if we've got tickets and i'll file them if not
<azonenberg> it's on my mental todo
<_whitenotifier-3> [starshipraider] azonenberg 4bc9f84 - Initial version of baset1-inline-probe
<d1b2> <johnsel> working on a new probe I see
<azonenberg> single pair ethernet directional coupler based test fixture
<azonenberg> just a pair of 20 dB dual directional couplers broken out to SMA
<azonenberg> intended to allow me to gather waveform data for adding 100/1000 baseT1 decodes to scopehal
<d1b2> <johnsel> ah yes
<azonenberg> i will probably also make some media converter boards that bridge normal baseT ethernet to SPE and back
<d1b2> <johnsel> I still want to build one that is pcb only, using traces as couplers
<azonenberg> since the ones i see on the market now are $$$$
<azonenberg> Lol. Doable at higher freqs
<azonenberg> not sure how viable with how low baseT goes
<azonenberg> these couplers are transformer based
<d1b2> <johnsel> Yeah not sure what the lower end frequency would be for that to work
<d1b2> <johnsel> probably more something for 10Gbit
<azonenberg> yeah
