<t4nk_freenode>
think that's a nice starting point... have some decent stable connections, at least won't have to worry about that

So scopehal / ngscopeclient might be getting electronic load support soonish lol
<azonenberg>
Just have to decide which one to buy
<azonenberg>
and what to move in my lab to make space for it :p

<johnsel> not bad buddy @t4nk_freenode
<d1b2>
<johnsel> I do wonder if placing your taps in the middle of that board doesn't influence SI too much? Seems like you're getting awfully near a quarter wave length at 20mhz there
<t4nk_freenode>
mmm, hadn't thought of that I must admit
<t4nk_freenode>
but I've been messing before with the flying leads, I really don't have much experience with this mind
<t4nk_freenode>
but I was unsettled by how it interfered
<t4nk_freenode>
so I went with very short leads, and the black lead-ish things in the last picture are resistors; I found that was the way to get them to work with the fx3
<t4nk_freenode>
same leads on the fx2 did fail btw, I guess it's because there must already be some there or so
<t4nk_freenode>
but I'm back to usb issues now ;)... turns out I really need iommu disabled here
<t4nk_freenode>
and then there's the fact that the closed source fx3 driver for sigrok won't let me sample at 100MHz
<t4nk_freenode>
I'm supposed to increase the buffer size they said, *sigh*
<azonenberg>
josuah: yes, the ultimate goal is a 24x 1GbaseT + 1x 10G SFP switch
<azonenberg>
oh wait the load
<azonenberg>
(wrong channel lol)
<azonenberg>
i just ordered the entry level siglent
<azonenberg>
gonna shove it on the back of my bench behind the soldering station because i'm out of racj space
<azonenberg>
well ok i have 6U free between the two racks but it's all allocated for gear i'll use more often
<josuah>
if only I could use the ceiling and floor for fitting equipment...
<josuah>
in my case it might be more about small area than abundance of equipement though
<azonenberg>
yeah i have a total of 400 square feet to work with
<azonenberg>
but that has to fit the wet bench, the soldering/test bench, the optical microscopy bench, storage, two racks of servers and networking gear, etc
