<azonenberg>
so i guess time to add some code to the siglent driver to enable these new commands if firmware rev is above some cutoff?
<d1b2>
<mubes> Yep
<d1b2>
<mubes> more importantly, it means they listened to our requests. That's properly unusual in a low end manufacturer and shows they're serious about moving up.
<azonenberg>
:D
<d1b2>
<Darius> do the release notes mention those changes?
<azonenberg>
So this is interesting. I'm seeing what appears to be a bug in which (so far only observed in ngscopeclient) it seems the vertical scales of two channels on a LeCroy scope are swapped
<azonenberg>
ok yeah definitely not happening in glscopeclient, happening pretty often with my waverunner
<azonenberg>
maybe once every 10-15 seconds during high rate acquisitions
<azonenberg>
happening often with the waverunner and ngscopeclient*

<johnsel> t4nk_freenode: still here?
Degi_ has joined #scopehal
Degi has quit [Ping timeout: 252 seconds]
Degi_ is now known as Degi
<t4nk_freenode>
yes, johnsel
<t4nk_freenode>
still struggling with my usb ports :|
<t4nk_freenode>
bought a usb 3.0 hub, now the fx3 at least stays connected
<t4nk_freenode>
I'll go and buy a usb pcie card on monday, see if some fresh new controller will settle things
<t4nk_freenode>
something fishy is going on with my ports though, and it seems that the fx3 is having the most issues
<t4nk_freenode>
I was half-way through making a casing for the sd card adapter too, so those little wires won't pop off all the time :))
<t4nk_freenode>
so everything came to a halt a bit
<t4nk_freenode>
also need to move my files to a new ssd sometime
<t4nk_freenode>
scopehal won't work, pulseview will work for one session and then I need to reset the fx3
<t4nk_freenode>
but I don't really need to be messing around with analyzers I guess, since I know what I'm up against
<t4nk_freenode>
haven't written any code for either pico or fx3 before yet, so that's gonna be fun
<t4nk_freenode>
was also thinking about using an esp32 maybe, though I don't know if the i/o is nice enough, the wifi sure is
<t4nk_freenode>
(so all in all, lots of ideas, little to back them up as usual :)) )
<t4nk_freenode>
well, got my new ssd sorted... nice, copied some VMs over and I still got terabytes free in my /home :))
<t4nk_freenode>
next up: coffee and then finish printing the adapter.
<d1b2>
<Stary> ok turns out the answer is "rigol usbtmc is very broken", it works.. not perfectly but at least slowly over lxi
<d1b2>
<Stary> sometimes i saw the waveform header(?) (wav:pre) get truncated when using it without the usbtmc transfer size workaround set to <= 48, meaning the values in the ui were useless

<t4nk_freenode>
heh, so I fooled around a bit more, wiped an even older ssd and ... installed manjaro :)
<t4nk_freenode>
what a Sin, lo
<t4nk_freenode>
l
<t4nk_freenode>
never do this, but I got all my stuff here now, but it just doesn't feel like home
<t4nk_freenode>
thought I'd have another go at scopehal
<t4nk_freenode>
I think I might miss something to do with liblxi or so; it's throwing undefined references to a lot of things starting with xdr_
<t4nk_freenode>
I built that from an AUR, v 1.17-1
<t4nk_freenode>
now trying again with some liblxi-git build
<t4nk_freenode>
but I think I might be missing something else
<t4nk_freenode>
(mabe a reboot :) )
<t4nk_freenode>
well, time to 'go home' to gentoo.
