<azonenberg> So it seems like conformal meshing in Sonnet is really good for small diagonal / curved transmission line sections and greatly reduces memory usage
<azonenberg> but is terrible for large areas like ground planes
<azonenberg> and does more harm than good in that case
<azonenberg> With a combination of judicious conformal meshing and some small tweaks to the ground plane geometry to simplify it, I have my sim of one side of an AKL-AD3 tip down to about 8.8 GB from the 16GB my half-probe used originally
<azonenberg> Which is down from 64 GB for the full probe after initial simplification, and 84 GB for a raw gerber import with no cleanup

<_whitenotifier-1> [stm32-cpp] azonenberg pushed 1 commit to master [+3/-0/±10] https://git.io/JonGU
<_whitenotifier-1> [stm32-cpp] azonenberg bf2a187 - Initial work on STM32F777 support, imported stuff from LATENTRED with some minimal cleanup
<sajattack[m]> so is there any support for SDS1000X-E series or is it mainly the 2000 and up?
<azonenberg> sajattack[m]: Good question
<azonenberg> mubes: you around?
<azonenberg> i'm pretty sure he's got a 1000? or was that xzcvx
<d1b2> <mubes> About to turn in, but yes
<azonenberg> see above
<d1b2> <mubes> Wasn't someone working on those? The SSDS2104X+ and above are supported
<sajattack[m]> redbeard on the unnamed reverse engineering discord has told me he's working on making the linux distro for SDS more customizable and considering porting sigrok and such
<d1b2> <mubes> (Except digital channels...really must poke someone on those)
<sajattack[m]> so maybe he's my best bet at the moment
<d1b2> <mubes> @xzcvczx Were you working on SDS1000?
<sajattack[m]> I have an 1104x-e hacked to be a 1204x-e
<sajattack[m]> oh this is weird I get pings on matrix and discord
<azonenberg> Yeah this channel is bridged to discord, didnt know there was a matrix bridge there too
<azonenberg> most folks in both channels mute all but one
<sajattack[m]> yeah good idea
<sajattack[m]> I prefer matrix to discord and the matrix bridge was up when the discord one was being funky, so I'll mute discord
