<nor[m]> pmnw: I also use tags manually. I just focus the right tag before opening the window I want to have there. I also prefer this to hardcoding specific meaning to specific tags in the configuration, so this is what I did on Sway as well. I mainly switched to river because I could add windows to multiple tags (for example combine a "main" terminal with an online Documentation on one tag and with a secondary terminal on another tag). I rarely focus
<nor[m]> multiple tags at once though (exept focusing all tags at once to find a window which I don't remember the tags its on).

<elshize> is there a way to switch to the window at the top of the stack? similar to how 'zoom' bumps the focused view, but I'd like to change focus to the top of the stack view rather.
<leon-p> I don't think so
<leon-p> `riverctl focus-view top|bottom` might be nice to have though

<elshize> thanks leon-p
<ifreund> I wouldn't really mind having those if someone wants to implement it

<leon-p> are there any more quality of life things we want before the next release?
<ifreund> leon-p: hmm, there's that one xwayland repression that I should probably look into. Maybe we should also make spawn-tagmask global instead of output specific to solve https://github.com/riverwm/river/issues/595
<leon-p> an alternative solution would be to keep the configuration of an output around even after it disappears
ecocode____ has joined #river
<ifreund> leon-p: that would probably fix that other issue about output transform disappearing as well
<ifreund> we should probably do that

<tleydxdy[m]> ye, I had made spawn tag-mask global for the local build, but it still have other problems like mode not being kept etc
<tleydxdy[m]> how great it would be if monitors have a uuid
<tleydxdy[m]> i guess (make, model, drm port) ought to be specific enough for this case
<leon-p> yeah, I think the "lingering output configuration" should be per device, not per adaptor

<ghostbuster> anyone else get occasional hiccups in youtube/firefox that last 5-10 seconds?
<ifreund> I haven't see that before
<ghostbuster> video only, audio keeps playing and then video catches up
<ghostbuster> guessing it's a wayland issue not river, but asking here since i'm not in any other wayland channels :-P
<nor[m]> Well I had that once on X long ago, never on Sway or River though xD

<leon-p> I wonder whether the output config should always be kept in memory, or if the object should only be created once an output gets destroyed; Because we don't actually need all those things while we have the output
