hey I'm pretty new to racket and've mostly been using it to study sicp.
<angle>
so I'm curious if it's normal for dependencies to be so massive for a package. When I run pkg install sicp, it installs webservers, xml parsers, image generators etc.

Storage for libraries isn't really an issue. it works just fine too. But it took like ten minutes to download dozens of libs, so I wanted to check in to see if this was typical for racket.

<angle>
it was ten minutes on normal internet with alpine linux.
<samth>
angle: was that 10 minutes just downloading, or 10 minutes both downloading and installing/compiling? the latter would not be so surprising.
<angle>
compiling too.
<samth>
and the reason it installs a lot of packages is because it comes with (and compiles) documentation, which depends on the full racket documentation
<angle>
ahhhh, that makes more sense.
<angle>
I got into those docs accidentally through a neovim plugin.
<angle>
they're very nice. It's cool having offline search bars for docs.
