Hello dear team. Any guess when you might declare PyPy-3.9 out-of-beta ?
<
cfbolz>
Guest27: hard to predict, the next release probably? did you try it? does it work for you?
<
Guest27>
I'm waiting Christoph Gohlke to release wheels for PyPy-3.9, and he is probably waiting for your official "out-of-beta" tag
<
cfbolz>
Guest27: wheels of?
<
Guest27>
basically it works.main problem is PySide6 issues with PyPy-3.8, that I hope will get a renewed effort when PyPy-3.9 gets out of beta.

Binary wheels for windows of numpy, scikit-leaarn, ... etc... etc...
<
cfbolz>
Guest27: we are still tracking a pretty bad windows jit bug atm
<
cfbolz>
it's the main blocker for pypy3.9 support in conda
<
Guest27>
ok, thanks for the explanations. Sorry I'm not expert to help on this issue.

cfbolz: if that's of any help, Gentoo hasn't seen any major issues with pypy3.9 since our initial testing
<
mgorny>
what usually breaks are packages relying on implementation details that have changed in cpython 3.9 but not in pypy 3.9
<
cfbolz>
mgorny: great data point, thank you

any examples of things we still need to fix?

i'm not sure if this is something to be "fixed"
<
mgorny>
but apparently the change was reverted in python 3.11
<
mgorny>
i.e. only cpython 3.9 and 3.10 have it differently
