<UltimateCodeWarr> Is there any way to import a grayscale image as a height field to simulate split block or rock texture?

<knielsen> teepee: Trying to prepare a new debian package for 2021.01, I see the test failures mentioned hereh: https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?id=1841257#c9 . Do you recall seeing something like that before, or should I just try to debug/fix it myself?
<knielsen> (about the debian bug with libcgal-qt5, yes it looks like this dependency can just be removed, it is an ancient (~2015) work-around for an old bug in cgal that was fixed in 2016...)
<teepee> do you get that on debian too? on fedora I would expect the issue is lib3mf-v2
<teepee> but debian still has the old unchanged 1.8.1 I assume
<knielsen> teepee: yes I got it on debian unstable with my latest build. Let me check the lib3mf version...
<knielsen> yes, 1.8.1, it seems...
<knielsen> teepee: anyway, it was just if you remembered something already known, to not duplicate efforts. If not, I'll just debug it, since I can reproduce locally it's hopefully not too hard to track down
<knielsen> maybe my issue is different from the redhad one. I don't get the failure in 3mfexport_3mf-export, only the other 5. So probably just a different issue with 3mf, and it just fails most of the 3mf tests list like in redhat
<teepee> right now I have no idea, the code itself did not change, of course the whole build env did move forward quite a bit
MatrixBot12 was kicked from #openscad by teepee [MatrixBot12]
<knielsen> teepee: sure, thanks! It's a bit of a mystery, lib3mf was last changed in May (64-bit time_t transition) and my last openscad in July was fine, so something strage going on. I'll let you know what I find
<teepee> yeah, maybe that transition caused some differently ordered output or something like that. I think the comparison is a bit optimistic, just relying on the text content compare

<knielsen> teepee: Ok, found it, a new version of libzip is incompatible with the lib3mf code. I have a small patch for lib3mf that makes the tests pass again
<knielsen> teepee: what's wierd is that this new libzip was uploaded into debian litterally yesterday, after 4 years of no updates - what a coincidenden...
<knielsen> teepee: So perhaps we should make a new upload of lib3mf to Debian, I can do it unless you prefer to do it yourself (I might need a sponsor, not sure if I have upload rights to lib3mf)
<knielsen> though I wonder why this was not seen before, it looks to me that any libzip >= 1.9.0 is incompatbile with lib3mf ...
