InPhase: you told me about using a pentagon awhile ago for printing, because something to do with the angles.
<lf94->
but I can't remember what it was about exactly. was it for printing a cylinder on its side?

lf94-: https://bpa.st/GAKQ Well that goes back a while... 2021-03-27
<InPhase>
I think the core issue was you were setting up to print a pentagon edge-down instead of flat down.
<InPhase>
lf94-: I have no idea what I suggested for the "Pin idea?" link which has long since vaporized.
mmu_man has quit [Ping timeout: 264 seconds]
<InPhase>
Oh, I think I do remember. A subtly curved rod with a clipped edge, to handle printing with those small radii you were trying to use.
<lf94->
Oh, starting to remember now
<lf94->
It was probably for the wire clip thing right?
<lf94->
wire enclosure
<lf94->
to hide an ugly repair job
<lf94->
nope
<lf94->
this is not the same convo we had about it x)
<lf94->
pretty sure it was about the wire enclosure
<InPhase>
Well I grepped for all pentagon mentions since 2020-09-03. :)
<lf94->

lf94-: I see the problem. On 2023-06-15 I suggested to you using a hexagon in the context of a wire enclosure, and you were astonished by the merits of this idea.
<InPhase>
But a hexagon is not a pentagon. ;)
<InPhase>

This being to have cleaner printing inside for the stringing problem of overhangs.
<lf94->
my bad
<lf94->
rip
<lf94->
A pentagon would still work right
DEVOM has quit [Quit: Client closed]
<InPhase>
Yes. Hexagon at 30 degrees is the largest N that will work smoothly, pentagon at 36 degrees on the incline is a little cleaner, but you waste a bit more space.
<lf94->
Thank you :) And sorry I haven't been around in a bit x)

<guso78k>
lets answer here
<guso78k>
my algorithm bases on inverse eigen matrices which helps me to bring back the polygon to 2d paper space.
<guso78k>
i believe, it can do anything, its only limited by the amount of paper work you want to spend, so you probably best choose some low poly stuff from thingiverse or do your own model
<guso78k>
ups ')
<InPhase>
Are we playing Jeopardy where you give the answer first?
<guso78k>
Inphase, sorry, meant to write to lf94
<InPhase>
:)
<guso78k>
sorry to bother you
