guso78k intersection and volumetric color... needs to be defined, of course, and almost any definition would be OK, but my take would be that the color of the result would be the same as the color of the first operand.

guso78 cura will autoselect the core from color but only per model. Bambu Studio slicer is able to use colors from 3mf - but might have problems if these are not created with Bambu.

I feel that one can just open a PR for those open source slicers to add this support, if they don't support this already...

first they should comply the specs. Bambu 3mf couldn't be opened in other software (eg. MS 3D viewer) and Prusa using negative volumes to alter geometry which will also not work ( and they are member of 3mf consortium)

Volumetric color is relatively straightforward to define mathematically. Practically, the problem is that the obvious answers involve differencing objects that may have (im)precisely aligned faces.
